Intel ICH8 vs. JMicron JMB36X RAID?

Hi, i am getting ready to convert over from an ASUS A8N-SLI Premium motherboard to ASUS P5B Deluxe.

Now, i have the choice to run by RAID 0 Seagate 120GB HDDs on the Intel ICH8 or the JMicron JMB36X controllers.

I would like to know which one is 1) More Stable 2) Faster.

Which one would you chose for your setup?
 
I did the same conversion. It is really simple.

1)ICH8 100% stable and noticably faster the the nForce4 RAID. Runs like a dream.

2) JMB36X Complete and total shit. Buggy drivers and any time it trys to access any drives attached to it, the whole system becomes jerky.

Many people here have had trouble with the JMicron controller. Just do a search. I am lucky because I am not running any IDE devices. If you have an IDE optical drive, good luck!! :(

And as a side note, there is only one JMicron SATA plug on the motherboard. The other is on the back plate for connecting external drives. So unless you plan on running one of the drives as an external drive or loop the cable from the backplate back into the computer, the ICH8 is you only choice.

Unfortunately, i do have 2 optical drives. But i do have acess to 1 IDE to SATA converter board, so i'll use that and see how it compaires.

Good to know that the Intel RAID is very good, i didnt use the nForce4, i used the Silicon image, but its realy good to know,
