Im building my gf's sister a computer and im not sure if i should bother getting her a dedicated video card.

All she plays to my knowledge is facebook games and watches alot of youtube / streaming video content.

Would the iGPU of the 4670k suffice for this?

rest of her system im planning on buying:

-4670k (i know shes not going to overclock but i might as well take advantage of microcenter package deals)
-MSI g41 motherboard
-8gb Corsiar dd3 1600 ram
-Corsair 200r case
-1TB WD black drive

it should be find considering any laptop can handle it. I did some light gaming with my 2500k iGPU before i bought a 6930, 3d games are the problem. Older games worked fine.

I very highly doubt she needs a processor that powerful (pretty much the only thing that can remotely test a cpu like that is games...and with no awesome graphics card...it'll never get pushed).

If you're worried about graphics power, in terms of getting the most powerful non-discrete graphics, an AMD A10 6800K is a marginally worse CPU, and about 30+% faster GPU. It's also much cheaper - you could prob save ~$100+ on CPU+Mobo combined and stick that money in an SSD which would massively increase the perceptive speed of the computer.

I fired up Halflife 2 on mine, it runs fine on like medium/high detail.

That is the best advice i have heard those months: for media consumers it is best to use an AMD APU and a SSD. I don't know if i can save USD100 going amd, but any pennys i save going with an APU in place of a core i3 i can direct towards upgrading from a 1TB HDD to a 256GB SSD.
