Ditto. Once I had used the 80GB X25-M on my desktop for a while I also decided to upgrade my netbook to a 40GB X25-V, which I plan to migrate to a CULV laptop in a few months... I took the plunge on that X25-V about a month ago once I saw prices on SSD weren't gonna be falling at all before 2011. I bought my 80GB X25-M in August for $250 and it's taken close to 8 months for prices to come back down near the MSRP. The 60GB and 120GB OCZ Solid 2 drives are also pretty good buys ($155 & $285 respectively AR), I plan to buy the 120GB soon as a gift for my sister's laptop.
I'd say it's a good time to buy a SSD, prices won't fall at all before year's end (if not next year), which is when manufacturers will start releasing drives using 25nm flash (all current drives use 34nm or larger)... I love mine, but I multi-task enough to really make 'em a worthwhile investment. If you don't multi-task a lot or you don't work w/very "heavy" apps (Photoshop, etc.) that can take a while to load, then a SSD might not be worthwhile to ya... Unless it's for a laptop, since they have multiple other benefits there besides performance (heat/power draw), and they're much faster than any 5,400 RPM laptop drive.
