intel fans unite!

lol, i like the idea of just one big family. more general and free compared to socket clubs. nice and clean and spreads intel love to others...of course in the wiener mobile. :D

I second the love for the 479 here! I have 2 s479 systems and 3 BGA479 systems happily folding away!

HAHAHAHA...

That logo is so hilarious and so true... ;)

Apple has lost the battle... and has given in and is moving into x86!
So the only thing Apple has to offer right now is an Operating System...
So that would make it just like Linux (of course alittle more popular and Apple has diversified and captured the majority of the MP3 market)...

So hopefully soon Microsoft would buy Apple, and we would all live happy! :p

I loved my socket 775 CPU's, until i was driven into the AMD side for financial reasons...AMD is just so cheap :(

Im staying intel because it would be too much to switch  I wanted amd but I needed a new psu, mobo, cpu, and video card while my intel swap just required a new mobo and cpu

Never under estimate the power of SIMDs. Apple/MAC will still have a closed market, they'll shoot for limited Hardware to keep it simple and software will be coded for SSE4, Dual Core and Hyperthreading 2. That's the speculation anyway. They will still be just another OEM. Dell sells Linux, HP Unix, Intel sells White box systems with many different OS's. Premiere Pro 7 proved the point that even the *poor old Netburst kicks ass when it's running software coded for it.

BTW, there are folks testing the x86 MAC OS on Intel and AMD systems.

Me too.... I miss it beiing able to say I have a 6800 GT @ Ultra Speeds and a 3.2c @ such and such*

Those where the days....

there has been no love for the INTEL family for a long time.......IM IN.......SKT 478 dell with a 2.8........and 4 slot 1s.......and 1 486 still running:p ........and a TON of socket 7s and 370s, it would take days to list them all........i did have a 286 still running but it died about 3 days ago. INTEL ROCKS WOOOOHOOOO.:D

Intel 486 50mhz, 486DX4 100mhz, Pentium 133 mhz, Pentium 2 266mhz, Pentium 3 600 mhz (and first oc to 800 mhz); Pentium 4m 2ghz, Pentium 3 833mhz, Pentium 3Ghz; Pentium M 1.6ghz, Core 2 duo e6600 :D So, in total, I owned 10 Intel CPUs. Some of them are still around here somewhere :D

I'm not really an Intel f@nboy but switching to AMD was never all that enticing to me - until Athlon 64 and then X2 have arrived. However, I still didn't switch, because I didn't really had to money for it... so, 13 years since my first pc, I'm still an Intel user :D Not because I'm devoted, but because I stick to what I know ;)

My lappy - Pentium M 1.7 GHz
Secondary PC - Pentium 4 3.0 GHz Northwood
Music PC - Pentium 3 600 mhz

I love the new Intel CPUs and have always been a fan of their motherboards.
