Intel Employee Purchases rock!

Just ordered a Q6600 Retail for $140 shipped! My Dad has worked at Intel for 10 years and has never looked into the Employee Purchase Program. Deals on mobos suck but there are like 5 Cpus' including the QX6850 which are 50% off. Looks like my main rig is getting an upgrade. Any suggestions on a good Quad capable mobo for no more then $100?

If you know anyone who works at intel have them look at the store on Intel Circuit and buy a couple of these.

It is meant for family. Processors can't be sold for 3 years after purchase.

Abuse of the program leads to termination.

Oh, I know. I have an agreement with Kicker car audio like that.

You can bet my first question to my dad was how many he can get at that price. But i guess they kinda track sales, if one guy buys too many then they get suspicious.

Tell your dad to look up "CLP". ;)

I don't plan on abusing it, but they didn't put a limit on the amount he could order, it allowed him to add multiple to his shopping cart. I also don't plan on selling any for profit since I'd prefer to keep whatever number we could order.

Excellent quality much better then Gigabyte.

The Employee Purchase Program sucked back when I worked for them. Glad to see it has gotten better. I still have friends and family working there, might have them hook me up when I get some spare funds for another boxen.

I read that wrong. I thought you said Intel Employee Purchases rock. For a moment there I was wondering what kind of rock an Intel employee may have bought.

I have that mobo... build quality is less than that of the ABIT IP35-E I linked you earlier... IMHO. I really liked the ABIT quality.. the Gigabyte NB and SB Heatsinks were loose...

Abit was nice and tight and overall like the layout...

My Abit IP35-E won't see ANY IDE device on boot, hell it isn't even in the BIOS.

Good board, but you better have all SATA stuff. (I didn't)

LOL weird I do have all sata so I didn't notice that quirk! Good call if that is an issue... was that with the most recent bios?

Probably not. But If you cant get you IDE CD-ROM to work or a HDD to get an OS on your still hosed :p

Just in case intel reads these forums ... ICE 9 game me CPU that he stole from work ....

MUAHHHHH ......j/k

Just in case some of you are wondering about any new CPUs being available for those "in the business" ---- nothing new there. I just checked.

I second the IP35-e. I just got it to run my third quad. Easy overclocking and lots of options to tweak if you feel like it.

This is also a very solid board - 5 stars on Newegg.com and winner of a Customer Choice award $89

GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX All Solid Capacitor Intel Motherboard

I will no longer recommend this board. I figured it would be a great board as well since it's just a stripped down version of my much loved P35-DS3R. However, After I got the DS3L I found I could not overclock with it. Anytime I manually set the FSB, even if it was the stock 266mhz, the board would freak out and reset everything to default. Let's just say I was not a happy camper. Luckily, I have someone who doesn't overclock that is buying the board off of me. What disappointed me the most is that a buddy of mine has the DS3L and my old E6400 and it overclocks just fine in his board. I'm not the only one with these problems either.
