I just finished building my new system. It's an Intel E5200 w/ a Gigabyte G31M-ES2L rev2.0 motherboard on the stock Intel HSF w/ MX-2

Realtemp idle temp:
Core 0 = 33
Core 1 = 41

Realtemp load temp:
Core 0 = 49
Core 1 = 49

Difference temperature between the 2 cores is: 8C at idle but at full load there's no gap
I'm a bit concerned to say the least. I'm planning to OC my CPU to at least 3.4GHz

I don't feel like removing the mobo, applying new paste for nothing if it's only a wacky sensor
What would you do?

those sensors are really inaccurate at low temps. since your load temps are fine and matching, you have nothing to worry about.

So which core do you reckon is running realtemp and all the things windows does in the background ? :p

Remember Idle does not mean "off".

Ignore it load tells the tale.
