Wondering if anyone here has used the Intel Data Migration Software before.
I'm about to upgrade from an Intel 320 160GB to an Intel 520 240GB.

I'm about to upgrade from an Intel 320 160GB to an Intel 520 240GB.

The Intel Data Migration software is just rebadged Arconis. It works well enough, as good as any other cloning app that has proper SSD support.

It should work fine but have your Windows install dvd handy as you may have to do a repair.

I used Acronis True Image Home to restore a backup of my OS taken from a C300 and put it on a Samsung 830. I then had to repair the MBR (on my desktop in Raid mode), but other than that it was painless and quick. Note that the OS on the C300 had been a backup taken off a pair of stripped velociraptors which may have been a factor in having to repair the MBR.

I've also used Acronis to migrate (backup-restore, not clone) from traditional HDDs to SSDs three times without issue and without having to pull out the Windows install dvd.

Does Intel migration software work with other SSD brands?

It depends on which version you got. The version with the X25 would only work if the intel was the destination drive, the version with the 320 worked with the intel as either drive.
