Infernal Engine VELOCITY Physics PS3 Demo

Wait, you consider box spam + a tornado more important to a game than realistic hair and clothing on characters?!?

Yes I do. Hair and clothing may fully give me a more immersive gaming experiece, which is a a great thing as well, but they will in no way impact gameplay. They are just effects physics. "Box spam + a tornado" has the ability to change the gameplay environment greatly.

If you think back to the first REAL PhysX demo, it is was that mini-game Cell Factor. Here is the trailer. This is completely awesome game changing and game impacting physics. We were told this would never been done on the CPU. Now we see it being done on the CPU and we have all these extra CPU cores to support it. Let's let our GPUs render video and our CPUs simulate the physics is all I am saying.

Sorry, but that box demo is a far cry from CellFactor in quantity...I hope you didn't just equate this demo as being the same level and magnitude of physcis as in CellFactor?

Because that would be wrong.

Listen, I understand you are going to shoot holes in everything I say here. But come on, don't put words in my mouth. As was CLEARLY pointed out in the Tornado demo, that was "thrown together in 10 minutes" at GDC to show the ease and ability that the Infernal Engine offered its users.

That said, I think it is clearly able to pull off a "Cell Factor - type" gaming scenario. And I will have to say I think I am in a better situation to make that sort of assessment. Sorry, but we can't shown you everything here, some of it is still "NDA."

The car windshields dont shatter and they sortve just disappear after being thrown off-screen.
Other than that, it looks pretty good.

Looks pretty decent...good to see it utilizing the whole PS3 Cell...just not that impressive however. Would have expected more, wanted to see the power of the Cell in full lol.
