Motorsport Games, who publishes the NASCAR Heat series, announced today that they are publishing a new game licensed from the NTT Indycar Series to come out in 2023. The last game to use the IndyCar license was in 2004 for the game IndyCar Series 2005. The same developers who worked on rFactor 2 will be working on this game. I am pretty excited, especially since I've been playing a lot of IndyCar Racing 2/CART Racing recently.

Vintage sim racing enthusiast on Youtube GPLaps just recently did a review of IndyCar Series 2005 to give an idea of what the current legacy is like and why people still go back to ICR2.

I'm pretty excited about this Motorsport Games venture.. we shall see with the new NASCAR game whether it holds promise.

No, thanks. The developers are toxic as hell and the physics engine is aging like milk. It was outdated 10 years ago. Licensing doesn't need to be an exclusive deal, anyway.

Seems a little harsh, the service may be expensive but developers have always seemed grounded and listen to the userbase. Everyone I know that uses the service loves it, all the hate comes from the fact its a subscription service but that in itself is why iRacing is so successful. The physics has evovled significantly in the last 10 years and is among the best especially considering it was built in house.
