Incorrect Speed Reporting

For some reason, my CPU speeds are being incorrectly reported in several programs such as Orthos and even in Windows itself.

Currently, I'm at 3.0GHz at an 8.0x multiplier with a FSB of 1500MHz (375) and my RAM is at 900MHz.

A screenshot is worth a thousand words:

Windows and NV Control panel are taking my 375MHz pre-quaded FSB and multiplying it by 9.0, which is what my CPU runs at by default, and thus getting 3375MHz. NV Control Panel then uses that clock speed to determine all those other values.

Could anyone please give me some insight as to why programs are calculating my clock speed based on the default CPU multiplier? Could my motherboard be reporting it incorrectly? It's an ASUS P5N32-E SLI Plus.

Thats a pretty common programming error several programs (as you have found out, do that). CPU-z will report it correctly and is what most of us use to determine buss speeds and memory timings. Coretemp for temps. Fairly amusing that Windows gets it wrong. No worries. You will find some programs do not report voltages correctly as well.

Orthos and TAT for load testing
coretemp and speedfan for core temps.
cpu-z for speed and memory timings
For voltages typcally your monitoring tool that came with the motherboard.

I just wasn't sure if there was something I was overlooking, or if there was some sort of fix for this that I wasn't aware of.
