Hi.

Recently (less then a week ago) i purchased

Sapphire HD4870 512MB gfx card
CoolerMaster 750W PSU
Intel Core 2 Duo E7600 (O/C from 3.06ghz to 3.8ghz)
4G DDR2 1066mhz Ram
Gigabyte EP45-DS3R

Currently running Windows 7 64x Bit

All new items, and was low price i couldnt pass up.

I was just wandering if there was any way i could improve the performance.

counter-strike : source - De_dust2/cs_office [80-150FPS], Cs_assault/De_chateau [70-120] from around 10-24 players

battlefield bad company 2 - All maps around 30-60FPS (Vsync is off)

I run my resoloution at 1920x1080
CSS - all settings maxed
BF:BC2 - everything on medium, AA - x1, AF - 1x

These 2 games are what i mainly play but i noticed that i got a higher FPS rate on css when i was running my old setup 2 years.

Inno3D 8800GTX 768MB
Intel core 2 duo E6750 (Not O/C)
Gigabyte EP45-DS3P
850W CoolerMaster PSU
4G DDR2 667mhz

same monitor, and gfx settings for css. FPS was a extra average 50 FPS (140-200)

Ive got the latest drivers, I dont run any background programs or have any norton/mcafee crap running.

Ive been told it could be the posibilty of mayb the cpu isnt giving enough for the fps rate i want. its 1066FSB with 3MB Cache and i should aim for E8400-E8600 because it has 1333FSB with 6MB Cache.

And im aware that most games in 2010 have required ALOT more power to be run at its max setting but im sure my system dosent need to be touched until the end of the year.

the e6750 is faster than an e7600 at stock speeds try and overclock it a little. not sure how they compare with the overclock that you have on yur e7600

You're still getting >60FPS in CS:S so what's there to complain about? It's also a very old game and drivers for the more recent video cards aren't optimized for these games anymore. The hardware is more than well capable enough of handling this game without any optimizations.

Your numbers for BFBC2 are inline with the expected performance of the card, though you didn't state what gfx settings you used. Medium perhaps? I'd say the 512MB of VRAM is what's holding you back a bit.

Anyways the 4870 512MB isn't all that much faster than the 8800GTX (I'd say 25% roughly) and you have even less VRAM.
