image hosting/possible firewall issue

I've been having issues uploading a few images to photobucket to host for our website.
they don't display for me in my photobucket account but I know they're there.... they show up with a broken image.

I've also uploaded them to our infopia account (current web hosting) and they display for the support people at infopia.
this leads me to believe there is some firewall issue on our end.

The thing is, I've uploaded other images to both hosts and can view them just fine.

the images should show up at

I'm kind of at a loss here.
This is frustrating since it's as if I'm working blind but other people can see the end result.

windows firewall is disabled & i have access to our router's firewall.

I can't view the images from my home computer either...

The images are 410x234 pixels, 350 dpi.

Other images that are smaller in size & lesser quantity upload to infopia & photobucket just fine.

Any ideas?

They may be blocking those specific IPs, as those images are a violation of photobucket's ToS.

First thing reenable windows firewall! Poor guy, it is almost always the first victim in "repairing" lost connectivity in spite of the fact it is almost never involved...

I confess I found your style a little foggy and I am not sure I could understand the problem. Apparently you have a couple of images that for some uncountable reason don't show up in your photobucket account but they are not lost and are still uploadable anywhere and visible to anyone else. On top of that, any new images you uploaded to your site do not suffer any problem. If I understood correctly then I wonder where the deal is, hifi, just transfer those couple of images on a new free picture host and better luck next time.

If on the other hand you want to dig deep in the question you have to be more detailed and probably prepared (you say you have access to the router firewall, then why you don't tell about its filters to rule that out in the first place? You like to be begged? :D). If I was in your shoes I would look for a local problem, anyway, and possibly malware related before even thinking of the firewall. Download a-squared the best freeware antimalware I know and run it on your machine to see if the situation improves. Let us know about it!

my firiewall's configuration is:

outbound, allow all

inbound, deny all

enable VPN passthru
drop fragmented packets
block tcp flood

Should I enable http, port 80 for inbound?

No, unless you have a web server in your computer and you probably do not. One thing I still have to understand is how the problem extended from job's to home computer. Is it the same computer (laptop) on two different connections, two different computers that share the same connection or two different machines and connections?

You did not say anything about moving the images to another server, you do not like the idea?

My home computer is seperate from my work environment.

The images are hosted individually by 3 different hosts... photobucket, infopia, & imagehost.org

Mmmh...

I can see the images in firefox on 2 different computers, but not in IE on those computers...

Already tried starting IE in safe-mode (Start > Accessories > System Tools)?

Other computers display just the alt text in both FF & IE.

Now you leave me clueless! Did not you say other computers show the images correctly?

This makes no sense to me.

Me too, but I insist. Do your homework and check the hell out of your machines because as far as I can see the only thing they have in common is you, your usbs and your external hard disks. Malware?

I figured it out...

it's because the JPGs i was using were in CMYK mode and not RGB mode.

everything is well now.

sometimes it's so simple.

Thanks again.
