I'm not sure if you were trying to help my argument, but as you did, thanks! :D

P.S. the second parts of dictionary definitions are always the best anyway! :p
Yes, I was trying to help, I kind of got the impression the original poster might be able to use extra examples, or at least repetition. There I go again repeating the same benchmark...

and

I wasn't sure if the entire dictionary entry would be welcomed or not. Glad it was!

Now........is a 20mhz overlock on the fsb good or bad? I don't wanna go over it. and my sucky pc2700 ram is actually, in my opinion, better than most pc2700's and ACTUALLY some pc3200's, and its very stable at 2.5-3-3-5.
Ok yeah, overclocking is pretty good. I got like a 7fps boost in far cry. YAY!!!!

I think i found how he damaged his proc

hp computer: <-----Right here.thats how he did it. hahah ocing an HP. That has to hurt
athlon 64 3200+ clawhammer
1 gb pc2700 crucial ram <-------also right here
bfg 6800gt, dual fan type <----it got toasted to from the damaged proc
unknown-crappy micro-atx motherboard <------and here...never heard of unknown mobo's
antec 430 truepower
200gb ultra dma hd
creative audigy 2 zs gamer

If your proc is broken as you claim...your vid card is to due to overclocking .. so you can sell me that damaged vid card for 100 dollars and i will pay shipping to... ;)

HP CASES DO NOT SUCK!!!! those cases DO have really good airflow, AND!!!! its really fancy looking. The mb SUCKS BALLZ, but i'm afraid that i'l kill my cpu tearing out that really really sticky fan on my cpu. The mb is actually from asus, link to mb specs

umm... crushed pipes, you heard a pipe in your videocard break, OMG quick someone call the plumber!!!
Just don't talk about things you have no understanding of moron, and yes I'd know because i've been studying electrical engineering for two years. :D have a great day.

Wow you've been studying electrical engineering for two years but lack the ability to recognize humor and sarcasm. Good job there trying to make yourself look smart. Better luck next time k?

Here's mine, stock core speed is 1.8Ghz with a 133Mhz FSB ;)

(1) pr0zac, i think you took too much of it this morning.
(2) sug... it really does depend. get a good hsf on the proc first, make sure your ram is from a good brand (ocz, crucial, etc.) as kingston and sim. brands are good for one thing: your wallet. you really want to upgrade your hsf before you do anything like that.

then push your fsb up a bit at a time (5mhz should be ok) if you can get it that high, nothing smokes, smells, or is on fire, and you can boot up ok and run 3dmark, you are in business.

see, people, i *know* how to do it... but the only thing i have worth o/cing is my laptop, which runs so hot my a/c is on all the time! and that is at stock speeds, with a targus chillmat underneath and a 9" windmere clipon fan hanging from my loft bed. arrg.

Now........is a 20mhz overlock on the fsb good or bad? I don't wanna go over it.

I'm assuming you mean that you have the FSB set to 220. It's not bad, but depending on the capabilities of a persons motherboard, memory, and cpu stepping, they may or may not be able to push it much farther.

HP CASES DO NOT SUCK!!!! those cases DO have really good airflow, AND!!!! its really fancy looking.

OMG.....I can't believe you just said that, I have to assume that you're joking here...either that or clinically insane. I deal with a LOT of newer (and older) HP systems.....and you couldn't be farther from the truth bro. It might just be that you're quite unexperienced with some of this stuff, but compared to what's out there in the entry level case market HP's aren't much of anything. About the looks, to each his (or her) own.....but again, I dunno what you're on.

The mb SUCKS BALLZ

Sure does, I checked out the specs.....NF3150.....ouch.

but i'm afraid that i'l kill my cpu tearing out that really really sticky fan on my cpu.

I have no idea what you mean by "sticky fan" but it's nothing major. If you've never done it then I suggest you maybe get somebody more experienced to change the fan for you, but the stock A64 cooler leaves a LOT to be desired. It might not be worth it for YOU to even think about replacing the cooler yet if you're still at this stage in your OC knowhow.....but when the time does come make sure that you've done your fair share of research and/or get someone else to do it.

then push your fsb up a bit at a time (5mhz should be ok) if you can get it that high, nothing smokes, smells, or is on fire, and you can boot up ok and run 3dmark, you are in business.

I'm afraid it's FAR from being that simple...the process is quite a bit more time consuming then that if you actually want to know that your computer is stable at your new speeds, so you may not be as "far along" as you're making yourself out to sound.....but it's better then nothing.

Thoses timmings are very laxed and your ram will not beat any HIGH QUALITY PC3200
also hp uses what i call VALUE RAM..it's cheap to make and the average joe won't know the difference.

it maybe stable at thoses timmings. but they are very laxed timmings. as in your not even pushing it.

yes HP machines suck ass.
anything you buy off the shelf sucks ass.. if you really wanted a real box. you should have built it yourself. they do make books (howto build a computer for dummies)
also you need to research more to my friend. and you will find out the best bang for the buck is to build your own box.

till then. stop trying to justify yourself to me. you don't need to. we all know where you stand. and if you want help just ask. but till you can do a 900+ Mhz OC on a HP machine. is when you become [H]ard....and don't worry about ripping the stock HSF off the chip. you won't damage it. and the only reason to even take it off is to put a bigger HSF on it.

Well, I think it's been made pretty obvious that you have nothing to worry about, suqmaster. So, I think it's time for this thread to come to an end before it goes even further downhill.
