I've taken part in the [H] distributed computing projects in the past, but dropped out for various reasons.

I'm back now, and I have far more hardware than last time I was in this.

3.06GHz P4 HT + 1280MB RAM [WinXP]
2.53GHz Celeron + 256MB RAM [Debian] (upgrading this soon, just can't afford to yet)
1.6GHz Duron + 256MB RAM [WinXP] (same as above)
733MHz Coppermine128 Mobile + 64MB RAM [Gentoo] (Xbox) x 2
466MHz Celeron + 256MB RAM [WinXP]
200MHz MIPS + 32MB RAM [Custom Linux 2.4.20] (WRT54GS) x 2

Now I'm pretty sure the WRTs don't have enough RAM to handle this (not to mention the lack of source code makes getting them to run it quite challenging) and the Xboxes are probably borderline, but the rest of the machines should be up and running rather soon.

Welcome back!

Make sure you add your power to the "D to 500" thread!

Keep on Folding!! For the [H]orde!!

The only thing cooler than a new folder is an old one coming back

Don't forget to OC the hell out of those and add it to the OC to 25GHz thread!

I saw it and thought it was Relic, I came not long before he left...does anybody know what happend? I got really busy when that thread was around, just curious..

I will once I've determined which machines can actually handle folding.

Unfortunately everything except the old Celly and the Duron are on OEM boards, so no OCing. The Duron is unstable as it is, I think it's a bad HD controller, and the Celly was not stable at 500MHz the last time I tried to OC it.

On the plus side, the Duron, the PowerEdge, and one of the Xboxes are all getting RAM upgrades this summer, the Duron to 1GB, the PowerEdge likely to 2GB, and the Xbox to 128MB. I'm also in the planning stages of building an Athlon 64 dual-core system to replace my DTR notebook as a desktop, and the notebook will become part of a CarPC.

Basically, my hardware contribution will only grow larger as time progresses.

Welcome back and nice to see those boxen being added!

Remember to get your [H]ardfolding badge-code from your folding page on the www.hardfolding.com site, order your case badges from hito bandahur, and come buy us a beer in the I R C room.

Everything but the 200 mhz systems will fold just fine. My slowest system (which is out of comission at the moment is a dual PII 266 and it runs the timeless WUs just fine. They don't put out much, but it's better than nothing when the system is up and running. Normally, it probably wouldn't be worth the power to keep it on but I eventually plan on turning it into a file server. Plus, it's fun playing around with a dually even if it is that old and slow.

Don't worry about the XBox's since there are at least a couple of people here that fold with them using timeless WUs and they are just fine. The PIII 700 I used to have here at work would usually put out 200-250 points per week I believe.

Just make sure those things are stable before you beging folding on them. If they are dumping incomplete WU's thats not good. Nice addition, and welcome back!
