That is not irrational... :D

Eh, i just leave em running. Although I do think there was a small bump the other night, as i woke up and my main box had reset itself. good thing i have installed as a service now... very little downtime.

thanks, its good to be back :)

fortunately it didn't cost me a ton... the 1 gaming rig was new, and most of the parts will RMA'abe.... and the 2 older machines, i just sort of built back together with some other spare parts, and have to buy a few others...

the laptop on the other hand, was old, and fried!

Thing was the Laptop wasn't even on at the time.... it was charging the batteries, and off.... but it was plugged in, and thats all it took.. even with a 2500 joule power strip.

But im back, and folding, and thats all that matters....

Congrats on getting some of your machines back up.

I'm trying to get one of my machines back up as we speak. I tossed the 4.3 gig SCSI in the dually 233 a week or so ago but didn't really have any time to mess with it after that. I also didnt have a spare CDROM or anything to toss in it and I thought the DVD ROM that was in it was about shot. Luckily it seems to be installing XP just fine. It'll take me a little while yet to get XP installed and everything running but I think I'll have the dually PII back up and running before the night is over. If I can find a spare monitor somewhere around here I think I may take the system home so I'll have something there to mess around on a bit. It would make a decent DOS gaming box also. At least it will give me something to mess around with even though I have no internet access at home. It will be folding 24/7, though, once it's loaded up on timeless tinkers. :D

Yeah I don't think there are any power strips up to holding back lightning. Anyways...

Quit wasting cycles reading the forums! :D Those flash banners take up a ton of cpu time!
