Ikea desk gallery

I have been following this thread for some time and I finally got around to redoing my home office. I posted more pics in the 2010 Workstation thread but I wanted to put one pic of my IKEA desk here.

The desk legs are Vika Annefors with a 78" Vika Amon tabletop.

All in all, the way I like it…simple, clean look, and inexpensive (well, the furniture anyway) :D
 
My latest, I've actually attached both desk together so that there are not an uneven surface mating...

Damn, everytime i look at this thread im so jealous of u guys! If only i could make it to NYC this week i could pick up a free galant!


Could anyone be so kind that lives in NYC as to pick up one of these desks for me? I'm afraid i wont be able to make it to the city for a bit lol

Out of curiosity TooBooKoo, where'd you get the short shelves the statues on the wall are on? Have a spot where something that size would be fantastic.

Anyone with a Galant - is there enough room in the curved section to mount a keybooard tray sytem or would the frame get in the way? Anyone have any ides how may back the fram is from the center 4 to 6" section of the curve?

Offices clear out constantly here in NYC, whether moving or going out of business. You can get cheap Ikea desks all the time. It's really better off that way as it's really hard to traverse NYC and load huge pieces of furniture without getting a parking ticket, gotta give the buyers an incentive.
 
I wish I had an Ikea store near me. Nearest one is like at least 2 hours away if not more.
 
Looking to be a first time Fredrik owner. The size and specs fit my needs pretty well. I like my current desk but its overly shaky during use (monitors and items wobble while typing) and I've noticed bowing and bending of the center and side shelves.

My question is if anyone knows where I could get extra shelves?

Yes, there's a leg there and it does get in my way occasionally. I need to make some time to get to the hardware store to see what I can find.
Having a large area free and clear for my legs would be a great improvement.

Improved a bit. The setup uses two Ikea Jerker desks - combined. I just swing between them depending on what I'm working on. The setup was gradually built up over a year and a half. I spend time editing my pics[D40/18-55/50/55-200] / playing TF2 or working on an embedded project.[Notes]

hello - any additional info on that bonsai plant in the corner? looks fairly tall, did u get it from a website - silk or real? any info appreciated

Sorry about the delayed response, haven't checked this thread in a few days.
I got the Bonsai at WalMart, it's not real... just some type of soft plastic. It really does look real though, which is what attracted me to it when I looked at it in the store.
It stands about 17 inches tall and the pot it's in is about 8 inches on all four sides. I just fell in love with it, and it really makes me feel peaceful when I look at it. Hope this information helps.

thanks, this helps a lot - i bought a small silk bonsai tree (8") online (it's in one of my photos in this thread a few days ago), it looks realistic, i love it, brings a peaceful feel to the room, but i want a bigger one. plus i'd imagine that walmart's wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg. so i'll be on the lookout :D

Alot of people asking about the door. :)
I live in a house divided into four blocks..one block for each tenant. To do this, the landlord had to seal one of the doors. It was originally a living room, now converted into a bedroom.
 
Hmmmm Vika Amon or Galant?

Vika Amon = Cheaper
Galant = Customizable

Decisions decisions :(
