So I go to my GF's house every weekend. And I want to start bringing my pc with. So I want it to be more portable. I am also going to drop a Blue ray reader in it. Its basically going to be our htpc.

Thinking of an Apevia X-QPACK2
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811144144
(paint the inside make it look cool)

And since I am OCing 24/7 a Corsair H50 heatsink/watercooler
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181010&cm_re=h50-_-35-181-010-_-Product

I don't see why the Corsair H50 wouldn't fit. And why the rest of my system wont fit. Maybe keep my stock gpu cooler (so it looks cool) and helps vent hot air out. My mobo is already a Micro. And ideas suggestions? Specs in sig.

Thanks.

The case itself should be decent as long as you use your current PSU rather than the crappy one it comes with (from what I hear, it's really really crappy and not to be touched with a 10-foot pole).

I don't have personal experience with the case, but it seems to me the H50 might not fit. The 120mm fan in the rear seems to fit rather... snugly to the surrounding metal parts, and the H50's radiator is larger than 120mm and thus probably would not fit. That's just my guess though. The rest of your system should fit, though I didn't notice anything about max video card size for that case.

Hmm.. You have a very valid point. Now that I look at the case. I dont think the H50 will fit. If I had the case in my hand I could tell =( But I don''t want to buy something I can't even use. I'm not set on the H50 I just something high end that will fit in a sff case. Any suggestions on hsf or cases anyone?

If you like the layout of the Apevia case but don't want to rape your system with the Apevia PSU, I recommend this case:
$46 - Bgears b-Envi BG01176 mATX Case

Similar layout. As for HSF clearance though, just cut out the metal bar circled in this pic:

That should give you enough clearance for many HSF out there.

Awesome thanks. Thats almost a perfect knock off of the apevia but cheaper.Yea. I was planning on using my Earthwatts PSU I have.

for the price of the Apevia why not go for the Lian Li v351. there about the same cost & the lian li should be a much better case.. Also if your going to be moving it on a regular basis I would also consider something like a COOLER MASTER Centurion 541 & mount a handle to the top (would be jsut a couple small holes drilled & then screws & large washers inside). Just make sure that you have a SOLID case for that sonothing gets bent. But that would be the easiest for transport I think unless you went to a MiniITX and it doesnt sound like thats in the cards.

Yes. I want one and have seen it. It's an amazing case. But I think there like 200+? and not available yet
$160-180 depending on version but still pricey (well, plus postage, so I guess $200 isn't too far off). They are available, though.

But as bastage pointed out, the Lian Li could be a good option too. And there's others... for example the Silverstone SG03B that I have is quite nice. Currently not available at Newegg though. I think they're probably waiting for the newer (and cheaper) version, the SG03B-F. This case can also take the H50, though installing it isn't as easy as with some other cases as I came to find out while stuffing it into place.

One of the reasons why I switched over to Lan Gear is because I accidently dropped my precious Micro Fly at the airport trying to get to the rental kiosk. I was trying to beat the rain that was coming. The case didn't fare too well but luckily the contents survived.

The Lan Gear aluminum must be 3 times as thick. It's a solid case.

The Micro Fly needs mods to cool as well as the Lan Gear. Meshing the window panels will cost ya another 20-40 bucks.

I really like not having to remove my heat sink every time I take my motherboard tray out with my new Lan Gear.

If the Lan Gear is out of your price range and you don't get the B-Gears, get this clone: http://3btech.net/blchfcsmfoal.html

Q Pack from Newegg is way too expensive when better clones can be had for half the price.

Oh yeah the Lan Gear will fit that water cooling without modification.

Pretty sure everything in this thread points to a cube case, not a mini tower

Thanks guys. Yes, I currently have my system in a Centurion 5 case. I was wanting to go Micro cube. But I am open for anything small and portable. The Elite 341 isnt bad. I could easily mount a handle on the top. But it may look ghetto. LOL. These cubes don't have to fit the H50. I just want them able to fit a high performance hsf. I may go with the clone Chiefmax and buy some high end hsf that will mount from the top. That will put me around $100 for both. My current hsf bolts from the back of the mobo and cant be installed on anything but the Lan Gear.

From someone who used to live out of a suitcase.. It would be easier to travel with a tower with a Handle then a cube with or without a handle.. Simply a matter of being able to pick it up & walk more naturally.. Its just a matter of how much do you actually anticipate moving it around.

Exactly! Mini towers are easier to put a strap around than a cube, plus they fit easier under the arm if carried without a strap/handle. Cube cases are really ungainly to carry that way.

Also, cube cases look small because they are shorter. However, if you compute the volume then you'll find that some of them are pretty big and mini towers can be smaller.
