Need some opinions.
My bro needs a computer.
His main use for the computer will be video editing and some gaming.
I might let him have my current system.

Computer he will get:
i7 970 @ 4Ghz
Asus Rampage 3 Formula
XFX HD6950
G.SKILL Ripjaws 12GB
WD 450GB VelociRaptor & 1TB Seagate Barracuda
CORSAIR 850TX 850watt
Antec P182
Asus 24" mk241h Monitor

Would the i7 970 be adequate for video editing?
Or should I build him one using the i7 2600k?

The i7 970 will be more than adequate for video editing.

I take it this is a hand me down system and not about to be built from scratch? If so, then I'd build a 2600k setup. If it's already built, then it will be fine.

Yeah he will get my i7 970 system....Im thinking of building my self a i7 2600k system...since he will make more use of the i7 970.
