4) What exact parts do you need for that budget?
ooo920 i7, 16x/16x sli mobo, low cas latency ram 3x2gb, 1 Nvidia card, Power Supply for 2 Nvidia cards, Antec Case, CPU Cooler, Win7 home premium, SSD.

oooNope. Buying windows 7 home premium oem

Build So Far via Micro Center...
X58 SLI LE Socket 1366 X58 ATX Motherboard $230
Core i7 920 Processor Boxed $200
6GB DDR3-1600 (PC3-12800) OCZ Obsidian Triple Channel Memory Kit (Three 2GB Memory Modules) $130
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OEM $100
Antec Three Hundred ATX Case $50

Video Card with HDMI. I prefer nvidia not for performance vs price, but for the extras: physx, cuda, purevideo, etc. i will probably attempt to play crysis on the 42" (~$250)

Powersupply, - Efficient. Not loud. Unknown wattage to support 2 video cards eventually. i would pay an extra $20 for modular. (~$75)

SSD - Intel 80gb g2 with trim. anything better or cheaper yet? (~$250)

other than 920, nvidia, and ssd. nothing is set in stone.

so 650 watts would be enough for core i7 920 and two gtx 275 ?

the sli configuration is for maybe a year or two down the road, for graphic or physics.

I'd say no. I'd recommend at least the Corsair 850TX or 850HX if you want modular.

Wait, do you already have the GTX 275 on hand or are you planning to buy one now?

i was planning to buy one. i havent bought anything for this build yet.

the wattage of alot of 275 gtx is saying requires "40A on the +12V Rail"

is that both 12v rails? im having a hard time finding 1 with 40A.

i was originally gonna get a gtx 260 216 for around $150 at newegg, but prices skyrocketed, i just kind of assumed that it was a price/demand thing and i should just buy something more expensive, since im so close to that price point.

40A on the combined +12V rail. However, you can't simply add the rails' amperages together, you have to look for the specified power available on the combined +12V rails. For example, the TP-650 states 54A on its combined +12v rails, but if you were to add each rail individually, you'd get 94A, which is obviously not possible (94A x 12V = 1128W). While a 650W would be enough for SLI'd GTX275 config w/ a moderately OC'd 920, I'd definitely want at least 750W. However, you don't even need SLI for 1080P, as shiro already mentioned, so just stick with the TP-650 and a single card config. :p

Better than Intel X25-M G2? At what? sequential large write speeds? Yah, the Vertex or any other Indilinx based drive. At anything else? nope. :p Cheaper? sure, some Indilinx 30 and 60GB flavor drives -- get two for RAID0. ;) Check out my SSD page: http://ssd.alphaq.org
