i5-7600K review is direct from China.

Intel Core i5-7600K Review Published Before NDA – 9% Faster Than Core i5-6600K But No IPC Gains Over Skylake.

Bring your translator! I let Google Chrome's built in translator handle it for me. Bing translator is lightyears better, but not sure how much I trust Windows Edge browser.

Enjoy! I would post some charts and pics, but they are in Chinese, and the translated text really needs to be there from the article to give them context.

No overclocking test. :(

In case anyone still doesn't know. Kaby Lake is Skylake with improved Video decoder and made on 14nm+ process that gives the frequency boosts. Nothing else changed.

And its a huge thing in mobile, less in desktop.

热血无赖 = Sleeping Dogs (no idea why they even used this)
孤岛危机3 = Just Cause 3
守望先锋 = Overwatch
坦克世界 = World of Tanks
英雄联盟 = LoL
全境封锁 = The Division
古墓丽影 = Rise of the Tomb Raider
奇点灰烬 = AoS

I'm disappointed the the 7600K used slightly more idle/load power when I expected the reverse.

Also even the Chinese commentary are exploding over how even more stingier on the overall gains are from an already stingy Intel in this refresh.

And with USB3.1 and TB3 on chip instead of requiring a separate controller. But generally the same.

That's the chipset, not the CPU. Works on Skylake too.

Not sure where you get TB3 from tho.

Is this worth the wait? If I'm planning to build a new machine should I wait for this? Machine would be used mainly for gaming.

Not really worth waiting for unless you just have to have the newest thing out there. Nothing on that chart strikes me as particularly useful for gaming over what the Z170 already does.

I think that will be determined on how well it overclocks. I mean it has a higher stock frequency at the same TDP but if it overclocks the same it would not make any difference unless you don't overclock.

I think the only worth thing waiting for is if you want a possible 5Ghz on a 7700K.

I am in the same situation. I already own the new Titan X and I want to build a new PC for it just for gaming. Should I wait for the i7-7700K?

I picked up a 6700k. Decided not to wait. Played with my chip for all of 5 minutes and got 4.5ghz stable @ 1.29v under P95 load. Been gaming on it and beating on it for a week without an error. Seems like a decent chip so I will roll with this :D

Well, what are you going to do?

Buy from the competition?

At the current rate of arch improvements and IPC, I'd argue maybe every 4 or 5 generations it'd be worth an upgrade... or if you really need to update that motherboard for newer revisions of interconnects. I'm sitting on Haswell currently and really can't see the need to go to Kaby. I'm sure there's still some Sandy folks out there feeling the same way.

SB/IB is showing CPU bottlenecks now tho even at 4.5Ghz+. There was a few cases before, but now its becoming more regular. In Fallout 4 a proper confed 6700K system is almost 2x faster.

I'm not sure if you're being serious or what. I just googled Fallout 4 benchmarks we must be using different Google. Anyway, I really don't care for Fallout 4 but I would be careful with such statements especially using mid-range cards.

It depends on the locations. Sure if you just benchmark out of the vault in the start its not CPU heavy.

Looks like for most games it is rather insignificant and frame rate would be smooth regardless: (Some just believe higher numbers = better experience, after a certain point it becomes personal choice or foolishness to worry about ).

Today I'm upgrading from a 3570k to a 3770k :)

Nice overclock on that 3770k.

Thanks! I had popped it in accidentally without resetting my overclock settings from the 3570k and it fired right up at 4.8 GHz. Backed down for 4.7 for the time being until I have time to tweak and stress test. Chip is great, definitely accomplished its goal of eliminating stuttering in BF1. The 3570k was maxed out at 100% on all 4 cores, the 3770k is about 85% on all 8 logical cores. That doesn't leave much headroom but it is getting the job done. I'm happy that a 4 year old CPU can keep up with my SLI 980 Ti's :)

I've got my at 3770k at 4.5Ghz. My Westmere hardly brakes any sweat @ 2560x1400 in BF1. It performs a lot better tan 3700k. The game will get optimized so it will perform better.

And Intel loves to blame everyone else but themselves for the decline in PC CPU sales, it is quite unbelievable.
Cheers

I blame Sandy Bridge developed by the Israeli branch of Intel. It almost sounds like a conspiracy. ;) Even LGA1155 boards have better components and look better than the latest stuff.

Filler chip looks like a filler chip. :p

IPC suggests no core improvements, which was known. It uses a more power efficient process than SKL, so the speed bump is "free" from a power perspective. It has some video engine improvements. The HD 630 iGPU has faster clock speed than the HD 520. $239 list price is essentially the same as the 6600K.
