I just finished reading the google story, great book by the way if you want to know how google got started and how they make money. http://www.amazon.com/Google-Story-David-Vise/dp/055380457X

in the last chapter it said they were helping to fold for folding@home and were advertising it with the google browser, i never heard of a google team so after i checked google and wikipedia it turns out they stopped doing this.

Just imagine if google was to use all of its power to fold:eek:

Google used to put out a ton of points!

It was a sad day for the science when google stopped putting out the toolbar with the F@H client included.

It think it stopped due to litigation issues (not everyone is aware that it folded with the google toolbar and not everyone is happy with the increased heat and power consumption).

Also the Google toolbar only ran Tinkers.
But Stanford was in the process of swopping from Tinkers to Gromacs at the time.
So the supply of work-units was drying up.

Luck ........... :D

Can you imagine some one with the toolbar with dialup with these new larger WU  Goolge toolbar starts sending it back and kills the connection for 3-5 min.
