I ordered my computer

Shit. That is one damn powerful system. A bit overkill in my mind but you made great choices. Enjoy building it!

- I didn't see you hit "add to cart"

-as a matter of fact - add it to my cart ! B-}.

well the comp i bought is like 1 k cheaper with toned down stuff

also tech seems to be changing still quite fast so not sure how long top of the line will be powned by some new amd chip

Why a crossfire chipset with an 8800gtx? why not an nForce 680i board instead? just curious. nice setup. the only time i'd buy such a system is if it wasn't my own money, haha. tech changes so fast that its not worth it.

What monitor did you end up getting?
I see one in the setup with the QX6700 and not the Q6600.
Nice stuff either way :)

well i decided not to get a monitor. might get one after i graduate and start working.

also i don't plan in doing sli and stuff because there will always be a gfx card that is going to outperform an sli setup .

Not for 24" or larger LCDs. Since you're not planning a dual card setup, you could have saved alot of money on the mobo (at most $100). You basically paid $$ for crossfire support but don't plan on using it, especially since you got an NVIDIA graphics card (unless you use hacked drivers). O wellz, $100 is nothing compared to the overall cost of the system, hehe.

well the motherboard i choose is nice i think.

well quad core mobo does not have that much choice too. also i got it based on number of sata support and some of the features like esata

Oh yah, its a great board. I was just wondering why you chose it.

huh? just about every good mobo out there supports quad-core. All 975x and P965 Express chipsets, as well as nForce 650i/680i. Oh, and if you need more e-sata ports, a sata-to-e_sata bracket is like $3 - $13 bux.

well my case supports 6 hd.

so 6 sata for internal.

the external is going to be for my external hdd that support esata
