I Need help with a PC purchase.

Maybe I should start a new thread, but, My corsair PSU went dead, so I used the antec 400c 400W power supply and it worked great for about 7 months. The pc starting powering off randomly, then wouldn't power on unless I left it off for a few hours. So I got another corsair 500W listed in this build and it lasted for about two months then went dead again.

I'm currently using the Antec just to post this and check on it. Can someone suggest a PSU for me for a budget under $75? I may also need to purchase a surge protector or UPS, but, that will be out side of this budget. I also updated my monitor to the Asus Ve247H 23.6 inch monitor.

Also I'm considering upgrading my graphics card, but, not sure if there is one that would actually be an upgrade for under $100 (again this would be a separate budget and something I may purchase in a couple of months).

Just need a solid PSU for under $75 I can get the corsair again, but, after two going dead I'm leery of that PSU and want something different.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Sounds more like a heat problem than anything else. You should monitor the temps of the computer when its on and looks for the hot spots.

I heard 8-Pack will build you 1 :)
Seriously I think you should pull yourself up by the bootstraps and build your own. ;)

Thanks for the suggestions. I did build one myself early in this thread I was dead set against it. But, I finally gave in and tried one more time and I've been pretty happy with it. The only hiccup I've had is the power supply issues. Going forward I will likely stick with building my own.

I think you are right about it being an over heating problem. I switched back to my antech PSU and its working fine. Seems like it might take a few weeks to overheat and leaving it off for a few hours might fix it?

I'm sure I need to post the next part somewhere else, but, I'm having issues with sound now. I have realtek audio and when I first powered up the system I got constant alerts telling me I plugged or unplugged an audio device. I found a work around to disable detection of the front panel. But, now I have no sound at all. Doesn't matter where I plug what into speakers, or headset nothing gets audio.

Also when I look at my play back devices it lists HDMI output, speakers, headset, speakers. The headset and bottom speakers icons constantly switch places and flash.
