Well I have never played pc games before and always stuck with my xbox 360. I want to jump in to this new gaming world of mods and such. I need to build a gaming desktop 750$ or less. The thing is I want a good graphics card that can run games on high.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Web browsing and high gaming

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
750$ shipping included.

3) Where do you live?
Colorado Springs, Colorado

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need
I know it said not everything but I need everything. Heres my list anyway.
CPU/Processor
Motherboard
Computer Memory
Best Hard Drive
Gaming Video Card
Gaming Computer Case
Computer Power Supply
Best DVD Burner
Gaming Monitor
Gaming Keyboard
Gaming Mouse

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
None im a noob

6) Will you be overclocking?
I dont even know what that means.

7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
I plan on getting a 19 inch. Suggestions?

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Couple months

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? etc
Once again I dont know

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? 32bit or 64bit?
Nope

Also would I be better off buying a Alienware M11X?

Any way you can narrow down when exactly you'll be able to buy this PC? Whatever parts we recommend today may not be the same parts we recommend in a month from now let alone two months from now?

If two months is the best you can do, please come back in two months and make another thread. This will allow you to get the best and latest up to date deals and such on computer hardware.

You should really read the answers to those questions next time. Note that he also needs an OS, monitor, keyboard, and mouse with that $750 budget. No way he can get all that with the remaining $80 left in your recommended setup. Not to mention that two of those parts aren't good recommendations: The Antec 900 is a relatively cramped case and there are significantly better and roomier cases out there for the same or lower price. In addition, that WD 640GB Black drive, despite the SATA 6Gb/s interface, is still slower than the single platter WD 500GB Blue, Samsung F3 500GB, and Samsung F3 1TB drives.

i made a mistake. if you add in the monitor and Windows i did not get the MB in that price. the grand total would be about $1000

with that setup you could burn blurays, watch bluray movies and if you get a 3Dtv you can watch bluray 3D. of course you can play games with really high settings.

another option would be to use a cheaper CPU MB and use your TV you use to play your xbox on if you have a HDTV. in that case i would:
CPU: AMD
MB: Gigabyte

For a total of $720. it be a really good gaming rig blurays should play fine bluray 3D might play fine i dont know for sure.

if you have a HDTV playing games on that is a lot of fun! i do it.

i put 2 options togeather and bothe will last a long time and are close to what he is looking for. if you really want to go cheaper and give up the USB 3.0 and the SATA 6 and the GTX 295 you can go with:

Ebay and craiglist for used parts. i put togeather a cheap gaming system for a friend from just looking for AMD64 AM2/AM2+ MB CPU RAM and video card with a new case and DVD burning for arround $300 to $400. is not hard to do. sometimes Dell and HP or even best buys will get you something decent for the price.

if you live in a city with large pop. you could make this into an adventure and hit up your used computer part places. you just dont want anything slower then an AM2 CPU and MB. Core 2 Duo is the next step up and AM3 or I5 or I7 in that order form slower to faster. used will get you a killer deal.

all depends on how involed you want to get. i think the last option you would learn the most and may end up being a really enjoyable experence. pluss you get to meet new people in these stores and they can really explaine what is what.

all parts i selected were just a decent deal with CPU MB and RAM video card beeing most important. it should give you an idea what options are out there thats all. prices change deals change.
