Damn, I need a ramp up. Need more D.............. amdgamer is getting ready to mow me over, like in the next two days. :(

I am going to try to get my CPU changed and add the W/C setup tonight, then I can get that new 295 Hydro folding.

That sill likely only hold him off another day or two though.

Anyone wanna donate an SR-2 and a couple of Xeons? ;);)

I have been reading alot here lately, and I see that there is no doubt that we have the best group of people that anyone could ask for. I don't visit the other sites, but there is no way that any of the other teams support each other like we do.

I am proud to be a [H]orde member.

Fold on !!!

Yeah well, you two will be mowing me over next. :p

but you are completely right about this team.

Go [H]orde!

I will be holding onto my SR-2. Hitting 80k ppd on it was a goal, and I just hit it.

Have a MicroCenter near ya, they are good for "D" on the cheap.

If I didn't have to work out of town, I could afford to own an SR-2. Keeping up 2 households is expensive. I spend 4 days a week in Nashville for work, so I have to keep an apartment up here, then I get to spend a three day weekend at home in Northwest Georgia. I am working on getting transferred to Chattanooga though. If that goes through, that will save me alot of folding hardware money.

Than, all I need is a second job to pay the electric bill.:D:D

Fold On !!

I want some cheap D, I just don't know what could be worthwhile but cheap enough. :D

I'll be adding about 20K in ~1.5 weeks when I get back from vacation.

There are a whole log of peeps ramping up. My threatlist has been fully packed for a couple of months and there isn't a thing I can do about them (at least not for another month or two). The only saving grace is I am high enough it'll take the vast majority of my threatlist a year or more to actually catch up to me.

This is the folding conundrum these days...you want to add "D", but the best "bang for the buck" will set you back hundreds...it is always a tough call...

Yeah, and then you can't neglect the fact that it is going to have an impact on your electric bill. However I am proud to be on this team and proud to have been mowed over, and to mow others over. The thing about us is that we don't need no bribes to keep folding, and we don't need no discount on C-Stock merchandise to motivate us.

Catfish and Tobit, it will be an honor for me to mow you guys over and to be on the same team. The bad thing for me is that I probably will not be able to add any more production till next year at the earliest as my budget has been killed due to monstrous electric bills due to the hot weather, and other expenditures that have popped up.

amdgamer you and and a few more are on my threat list. you finnally throw some juice at your 980? if not you have plenty of D just waiting!

I've been too afraid and too busy to fiddle with the chip. Folding2 is still running at 3.6ghz with stock voltage with temps staying in the mid to upper 60's. This is pretty much where I like the temps to stay. I guess i'm a bit more hesitant than usual since i've never purchased a $1000 cpu before.

Now that Micro Center is selling the Corsair H70, I am seriously considering switching to that and cranking up the vcore. I wasn't a big fan of the H50, but i'm really liking what i'm seeing from the H70 reviews. Best of all, it is as maintenance free as a standard air cooler.

some maintenance is required, periodically cleaning the fins ;)

Yeah, but that isn't much more different from your standard air cooler anyway. I was peeking inside folding1 a few days ago since the SilenX side panel fan died a while back, and noticed that the Cogage heat sink is starting to get caked in dust. Temps are still only in the upper 60's, so I havn't bothered to clean it out or replace the dead side panel fan. Maybe I can get through the entire winter without having to take the side panel off and spray it down with compressed air! Once folding1 starts hitting the 70's, i'll clean it down and replace that dead fan.

Okay Gamer, You mowed me, but i'm not going down without a fight. Intel quad is down for the addition of the new proc, the GTX295 HydroCopper and the Water Cooling. This is going to take longer that I thought. Putting a 3X120 and a 2X120 radiator in a Lian-Li PC-A71 without external mounts is going to be a PITA, but ima make it happen.

Fold On!!!

I have two GTX275's on the way, thanks Jebo, and this morning I also ordered a Athlon X4 CPU, motherboard, and memory to feed them. I'm going to run three classic clients for the beta testing I need to do and leave the fourth core free to feed the 275's. Unfortunately, I am going on vacation tomorrow for a week and will not be able to get the new "D" online until the 11th.

Next month, I think I'm going to do a bigadv system and then that will be it for awhile as I take a couple months to save up for an SR-2 build.

Tobit, do you know what new developments if any are in store for the uniprocessor client in the near future?

Awesome, good to see you are back with a strong commitment. I strongly recommend the L-series hex-cores for your future SR-2 build if they'll still be available. They look like an absolute killer combo judging from musky's thread.

There's a new core coming out called A4, it is the uniprocessor version of the SMP2 A3 core. However, I can't go into a whole lot of detail yet due to NDA.

The Protomol core was released earlier in the year and, although it is still going through some growing pains on AMD CPUs, it is doing well. Protomol is designed to allow for rapid prototyping of molecular simulations.

Every month it seems there are always new GROMACS 78 projects coming out. I think 100 were released in the past two weeks alone.

i've seen an A4 project listed on psummary for months but never seen a WU in the wild - did someone jump the gun or is it -advmethods only??

You are probably looking at psummaryB or psummaryC -- psummaryC is combined closed beta and public WUs. psummaryB is just the closed beta WUs. No one is supposed to know about either of these but MANY people disclosed this information a few months ago so it's almost common knowledge now. There is no A4 work currently listed on the public psummary info.

Heh, I didn't even realize it. What processor do you plan on going with?

When you come back, i'll have a glass of hard lemonade ready for you. It has been an honor for me to mow you down.

Correction to my previous post, I will have THREE 275's coming online next week.

That would explain it - i use psummaryC as it occasionally has public project son it that aren't on the main page for some reason

It has been an honor to have been mown over in the name of science. The Q9650 is in, the W/C is complete. I have yet to get the second GPU client going on the 295, but that is tonight. I will try to get pics of what I done with the radiators and how I done the loop posted tonight.

I can't wait to see what you have done. I would personally never resort to water cooling, but that is because I still believe that liquids don't belong in a computer. I am considering going with the new Corsair H70 for my Gulftown though.

Those 295's are a beast though. I know that they use dual GPU's on a single card, but the fact that the 295's can keep up with the GTX 480's in folding is incredible. I hope you get that 2nd gpu working!

2nd GPU client is up and running, but I forgot my camera here at work yesterday. Will try to remember to take the camera with me this afternoon.

Fish

(Will get PPD and Pics tonight.......... I have LogMeIn access, but it is blocked here at work, so no access until after work)

Nice you got the card fully running. How much PPD are you getting from the 353s and 450s respectively, BTW?

I'm getting mowed regularly now too. I think I topped out at 53 for a day or two, now I'm back down to 55 and will continue to fall. I have no means to add more D for the foreseeable future so I'm just trying to hold my production and at least not lay down for all the blades :D

Looks like just a shade over 21k ppd out of this machine. Here are the pics of what I had to do to the case to get it all in there the way I wanted it.

FYI- I have to get a grill ordered to cover the hole in the top of the case.

The 120 X 240 Radiator can be seen here by the hard drive bay. Ya have to overlook the cheap ass RAM. I ordered Patriot RipJaws without doing any research. Won't post with P35 chipset. I have yet to order some that will.

All in all, nothing special, but this is my first shot at water cooling.

That really looks good man! It is amazing how naked video cards look like once you take their factory fans off. How are your temps doing?

Temps are fantastic. CPU is running 45C and the GPU(get this) 43C. Dual GPU's and that big as radiator is keeping it that cool. The small radiator is passive, only there for the fill port b/c I am basically using it for a reservoir. I think the CPU temps might come down a little more if I put fans on the 240 radiator.

and for Wyxe, it is running on one Swiftech pump.
