I tried all the search engines and when I hit the search button they just hang and hang. I surfer no problems just search engines and here and a couple other places. It doesn't make since. I used Adware and Spybot. Is it possible that there is a malware or something like that causing this and Adware and Spybot cannot find? I am lost here.

P.S. It happens in Firefox and IE.

Does it hang on all web forms? Your browser might not be submitting data for some reason.. Perhaps try Opera and see if it has the same problem

Try what King Icewind said.

If that doesn't work, disable your firewall (if you're running one) and see if that makes a difference. If it does, it might be configured improperly.

I've deleted cookies everything. Unistall firefox reinstalled firefox. Nothing. I can come here and other forums. But cannot got to pcper's forum. It just hangs. Tried to go to yahoo site it just hangs there too. Cannot even go to the USPS website. I can go to googles website but when I try to search it hangs. Tried Askjeeves and it hangs. Weather.com just hangs.

It doesn't make sence. I can go to a lot of websites. But when I try the ones I mention it just hangs.

If this is happening to both your Firefox and IE, pretty much mean it's something else other than the browsers. What operating system are you running and are you using wireless network connection? If you are are wireless and using Vista. Go to Control Panel>Network and Sharing Center>Manage network connections>right click on you wireless and properties>Configure>Power Management>uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

Or else try uninstalling Adobe Flash and install a new one.

And like the above suggested. Are you running any kind of firewall? Router or OS firewall programs? What about your router if you are using it. If you are using a router, try connecting it straight to your modem instead of through the router.

Yes it is happening iin both. I'm running Windows XP Pro. Yes wireless router. Linksys. Never had a problem til yesterday. Running windows firewall.

use hijack this and make sure you don't have a malware dns redirection going on..

just change your dns on the adapter. go to my computer My Network Places > view network connections right click on it go to properties you'll see Internet Protocol TCP/IP double click on that where it says Obtain DNS server address automatically click on Use the following. Put in 4.2.2.2 and the other can just be your routers IP address. Click ok and then try it. Does this happen on other computers there as well or just that one? Are you connected directly to the router or wireless? Have you tried restarting your router and modem?
