Nothing like checking your tracking at work to see your new video card delivered to your porch only to come home and not see it anywhere. I live sort of in the country so I highly doubt it was neighbors...

Oh man, that's tragic!! Especially being a sweet BFG 5900!

I'd pull the Batmobile out of storage, fire it up, and make a run to UPS to raise some hell............. after I made sure I check my back porch.

See if it shows up today, I know on a few occasions they've marked it as delivered instead of 1st attempt made.

I was pissed to holy hell waiting for my buy.com order of a music CD only to find days later the UPS man put the tiny thin package UNDER the doormat. SOB case was cracked to hell.

So mebby look harder?

Well it is currently 10 degrees out with a -5 windchill. I looked all over the porch and surrounding area for what should be a decent sized box. The bastards can haul their asses back and look themselves :)

don't ya just love UPS? for some strange reason they like to leave packages by my back gate instead of on my front porch that is COVERED...one of my neighbors knocked on our door just before Christmas to see if we were home as there was a package by our gate...fortunately the driver put it in plastic because it was raining like mad that week...common sence needs to be used more often

Just found out it was delivered today. I still hate them though. :)

i always demand signatures. i try to use fedex when possible, tho i did use ups to ship my computer to college from home, no problems then

They could solve all the complaints by DUCT TAPING it to your front door. Not just a little, but a big wad of tape. Then theres no reason that it can get lost.( or stolen for that matter. :)

I'll feel your pain. I also ordered a BFG5900nu from ENPC (Monday) hoping that maybe I could get it by this weekend. There must be some sort of curse.

I'm really impatient and slighly anal, so I like to check the tracking ID every day or so, to see when I can expect my package. Although the website still shows an scheduled delivery date of Jan 9, it also shows that my package has been sitting in NJ for the last 60 hours.

How the hell does a package sit in a UPS station for 3 days and not move anywhere???

Fedex is by far worse. They misplaced my mac...and entire fucking computer. Then they delivered my cpu to someone else.

LOL! I must be way worse than you. I check my tracking ID practically every hour cuz I'm a freak who's very impatient.

But...they made special arrangements for me to pick up the same day as a 1st attempt and stayed open late so I could wait for the driver to get back from his round (I wasn't the only one waiting, but still cool). I appreciated that.

LOL but not DUCT TAPE...Super GLUE! That way you will allways know where it is.

I dont recall having any problems with them, but this is a little odd.

http://wwwapps.ups.com/WebTracking/processRequest

It shows 3-day select, and sent off on Dec 7th. So three days would be today. Its out for delivery today, so its right on time.

Yet it shows scheduled delivery as Jan 12th, and "on time" for that. Strange.

I ordered a Gateway about 6 years ago. Back then they would only ship next air (or maybe it was second day air, can't remember) and the cost was almost $100. I even tried to ask the Gateway sales rep if I could get it shipped a cheaper method like ground, but it was a no go.

So a day or two later, I get two boxes. My CPU and accessories and another box with the speakers. But my $500 (remember it was six years ago) 17" Sony monitor was nowhere to be found! The tracking number for box #3 showed that it had been picked up by UPS and had made it to two different UPS centers, but there was no further activity.

UPS customer service was horrible! I spent so much time on the phone and spoke with so many different people. I was unusually polite and patient the whole time, but I can't say the same for the UPS reps. Most of them wouldn't even deal with me, because according to them: "you're not our customer, the shipper is the customer (Gateway) so take it up with them." I ask one lady if I could get a refund on my shipping, since I didn't get my package the next day (like I paid $100 for) and she said no, because I got part of the shipment. I told her that a computer is no use without a monitor, so I didn't get the next day service I paid for. She had the nerve to laugh at me, and ask in a condescending tone "sir, doesn't it suck to have a computer without a monitor."

It wasn't that I was so eager to receive the complete computer (although I was), the thing that pissed me off so bad was that I had been forced to pay $100 for next day shipping, BUT I didn't get my stuff the next day.

Long story short, after a couple days, UPS REMOVED the tracking info (evidence) from their database. The info for the two delivered boxes was still there, but the tracking info for the missing box was, well... it was missing too. At that point, the customer service reps and supervisors started denying that they had ever received a third box from Gateway! Again they told me to take it up with the shipper (Gateway).

In the end, Gateway made it right, by shipping a new monitor (I got it about a week after the CPU), but I doubt UPS had to pay for the one they lost (stole).

you hate UPS. let me tell you a story: when I got my 9600p it was shipped ups. including the shipping challenge, I had to pay an extra $60+ for border fees (i live in canada). then hen I was not home whn it was delivered, they took it back to the post office that was like 1h drive away from me and told me that i had to pay an extra holding fee. that was like an extra $70 some on top of the original price. God I was pissed

Damn, I take this all back...

I just checked the tracking ID again, and it shows that it WAS delivered today! It's still weird, usually they scan it all the way, but this time the last activity shown is an arrival scan in NJ. I guess they didn't scan it on departure or arrival in MO.

UPS still sucks, they just didn't suck this time...

And WOO HOO for my new card!!!

Ouch! Is that normal?

Do they charge that on all packages, or only certain types of items?

I had UPS open my front door and put a package inside my house once. We forgot to lock the front door (small neighborhood) and they just waltzed right in. Other times they leave it by our trash can, the garage or along the side of the house. It's kind of a mouse hunt when I get a package delivered. Fedex it's always behind the screen door.
