Sorry I finally read through all the reviews I'vr found and though it will do okay with a stock set up and is much better than the stock faqn it is no good for overclocking...oh well i tried...yeah yeah over anxious noob!! lol
 
Okay I've been researching for a few hours now and It seem from what I've come up with is that the cooler manufacturers are simply adapting their socket 775 coolers for 1366 application. It seems that they all do a much better job than stock cooleres that non of them are really sufficient for overclocking.

I've read about;

Aksa Nero
Gelid-Silent Spirit
Noctua NH-U12P SE1366

There really aren't too many reviews out there...I guess I'm coming to the conclusion that it is a time to wait and I should just buy a $30 or $40 kit for now and wait for a better cooler to begin my overclocking career....Correct me if I'm wrong here
 
you get what you pay for. There is no reason to not buy a S128 or TRUE.
 
well, I'm not really comvinced of that, sometimes you have to pay a premium for a brand name. I remember buying a samsung TV way cheeper that a sony when they first came to the states before they were household name. That was like 20 years ago and that TV still works!!!

Anyway, who makes those coolers. I did a search for S128 and got a solid stste drive
 
I'm looking to cool my new i7 920. I did find that coolere and it is the same cost as the Nero it seems. The Nero does test better than the Silent Spirit and I cannot find any tests of the S1283 on an I7 setup. I did find a TRU test on a I7 965 but thats not apples to apples and it's almost double the cost...I'm leaning toward the NEro right now.
