well, i saw this cable kit a while ago... good price, like $40 or 60 for 1000ft of 100Mhz cat5e, crimper, line tester and plugslomn75 said:For home LAN, there's no real reason to pay attention to the MHz rating. Unless you've got all gigabit-rated equipment, just buy standard Cat5/100Mbps -- it'll be fine.
ooo, nice site... thanksO[H]-Zone said:I got my wire, keystone jacks and wallplates at Dalco . I was very satisfied with the products and service. They're in Ohio, and I'm in New York, so I got everything in about 3 days. Hope this helped!
do they come in smaller spools like 500' for less?... i doubt i ll ever use 1000'maxedoutcc said:if you need alot of cable I suggest going to home depot and getting the 1000' spool of cat 5e, it is some of the best priced cable ive ever used. and I have never had any problems with it. The going rate is about $54 for 1000'

I'm in Sorrycuse...a sorry excuse for a city. I'm actually in a 'burb, since the city is a hole. And we're going to have the fifth annual Street Rod Nationals this weekend...last year there were 7000 cars (rods and customs...great quality too.) If you can possibly make it here this weekend, it will be a great show. The Nationals themselves are at the State Fairgrounds on Sunday, but the real fun is at all the cruise spots around town on Friday and Saturday night. If anyone wants more info, I'll start a dedicated thread (didn't mean to hijack this one. You may now return to your regularly-scheduled lives!) Hope this helped!

the reason I mentioned the 1000' spools is becaus a 100' spool costs $22 and a 1000' spool costs $53
by the time you buy 200' of cable you could have an extra 800 for virtually the same price. And this can also be used to make your own custom length patch cables.
