Besides that, I think that the problem here is the misleading naming schemes that ATI (and nvidia) uses.

The website states radeon 8500 or greater... but, although the 9200 has a higher number, it is actually not "greater" then an 8500. The 9200 is based on the 8500, yes... but stripped down even further. It would bench slower in an apples to apples comparison.

Thems are the breaks really... The game is very new though... right after doom3 came out they didn't have it working on a voodoo2... it took a little while!
 
hey, can one card with similar technology be flashed into another card?

would that make it work?

Okay, let's drop this, guys.

BF2 DOES work on a Radeon 9200. The naysayer is WRONG. I just got back from playing 20-30 minutes of the demo.

You just have to go to your advanced video settings and change the AGP speed from 8X to 4X. I have NO idea why this makes it work, but it DOES work.

Oil is traded on the open market, the occupation of a country is not necessary to obtain it nor would it be viable to do so.Its not an oil war dip- shit.

Usually it is difficult to debate someone on these boards because people make such vague, indefensible statements.

This however is not one :)

I assume you have taken at least 1 College level economics class. Please explain to me how the invasion of Iraq helps either the U.S. strategic reserve or how it benifits the average consumer.

Based on an agreement with the U.N. and in conjunction with O.P.E.C whose ranks Iraq will again join. It was agreed that Iraq would have complete control over their own reserves.
This fact was argued against by mostly democrats and moderate conservatives on the basis that these reserves should be used to repay Americas "war" costs instead of the American tax payer.

It was defeated and no levys on Iraq oil will be placed by the U.S. as it is believed it will stymie their own recovery.


The same people who argued "for" the war argued "against" using Iraq oil for recouperation of costs. And they won. At least that war is over.

So when you make stupid remarks about "georges oil" it makes you appear as an ignorant uninformed person who would be best served by staying in threads where the debate does not exceed your "intelect"

Consider yourself pwned.

I've submitted a report to the moderators because this thread really needs to be locked.

In closing, to the OP: As was said one or two times earlier in the thread, try going into your advanced display settings and change your AGP speed from 8X to 4X. I have a Radeon 9200 just like you and after I did that, BF2 started working. It might work with GTA as well.

data, i see closure on the horizon for this thread so I want to say two things.

bottom line, the man said change 8 to 4x so you can run the game. Or flash ur cards somehow to whatever specs BF2 needs.

If you would look a bit past what they tell you on fox news and what karl rove writes for bush to say, you would understand that the war in Iraq is about two main things: protecting the USdollar and appeasing the Saudi royals.

A little history lesson:

Saddam was threatening to begin trading oil in euros... Also, the Saudi's did not want us to have station in their country. (Remember that the 9/11 terrorists and also bin ladin are saudi... also note bush has used 9/11 as reason to invade iraq... I shouldn't have to spell out what is going on here...) Invading iraq allows us to have a perminant base in the middle east (IE move out of Saudi land), and also protect the US$... Ever wonder why Brittain never switched to the euro with the rest of Europe? Wonder why Blair is a supporter of the war in Iraq when the rest of europe isn't? They are an oil producing/trading nation like ours... and keeping oil traded in the US$ is to their interest aswell.

Another bit of history:

Bush and blair met and actually discussed how to coax saddam into giving the US reason to go to war... this was many months before congress approved the war. They had two plans... plan A was to convince the UN to give saddam an ultimatum pretaining to the weapon's inspectors and access to his country that they were sure he would not agree too. But there was a plan b. Bush began to escalate bombings around in the no fly zone to try and get a retailiation from iraq... first a few tons... then more... and this was before war was approved by congress!

What I said before about "bush's oil war" may have been a bit of baiting, however necessary the war is or was... he did, indeed, flatly lie to the american people about the reasons for going to war. But besides that, in his efforts to protect the US$, he has run our national debt to record heights and ruined our relationship with many nations.

hehe... I am not even going to start on his failed domestic policy... hehe... there is probably a thread length limit... :)

Don't know about a thread length limit but there is an appropriate place to post things like this and it isn't here. You want to discuss things like this pay the dues and get access to General Mayhem political discussions do not belong in the video card section.
