HyperV vs netbook performance?

I currently run a plex media server on a Windows 2012 Hyper-V server instance with 1GB allocated on a E6550 C2D machine. I have a spare netbook that also has 1GB RAM. I'm debating on whether to remove the hyper-v instance (and therefore freeing 1GB of memory) and putting it onto the netbook.

While this may be a question for the home theater section, it's more about the performance between the two. Would the performance of this hyper-v instance be comparable to a netbook with an Atom 1.6ghz?

So, basically...

Hyper-V instance on C2D E6550 at 2.3ghz 1GB ram
or
Raw hardware netbook with Atom 1.6ghz 1GB ram

If you are using Plex to transcode the content on-the-fly before sending to the playback device, then moving the Plex server to an Atom processor will be very painful. (reason: transcoding is *very* CPU intensive)

Edit: The poll's choices (as listed by themselves) are unclear, and could cause you to get mixed results from the survey.
 
As PTNL noted, your poll choices aren't exactly 100% clear and there's a very good chance people won't bother reading your OP first before they vote.

To answer your question though, probably give the edge to the Hyper-V
 
Lol, well, as we suspected, the hyper-v instance was faster by about a factor of 4.

Hyper-V setup for sure. The RAM allocation is completely separate from CPU.
