Ok, I have been trying to setup a HTPC for my living room. I have a 36" Sony Wega. It's not HDTV so I'm just trying S-Video output. I have an ATI 9200 in the PC and I fired things up and got bending in the upper right and upper left. I was really confused about all this and checked the ATI properties and actually just expanded the the sides to where I wouldn't see it anymore. My desktop resolution is 800x600 at 60hz. I also noted some bowing at the bottom of the screen (last 1/2" or so in the middle) that no expanding or moving fixes. Should I try a custom resolution closer to the TV standard resolution? Is powerstrip an option?
Anyway, my next question is about TV tuners. I have a cablebox for digital cable. Is there a TV tuner that would natively read the digital cable signal or is there a place I could purchase my own digital cable box so I could have two digital cable boxes and watch and record two different shows?
I essentially have all my hardware for my "beta" version of my HTPC but am trying to get everything to work nice before I throw down the money for the smaller and more powerful version.
