Looking for a good CPU cooler for a be 2400 needs to be quiet yet move some air. Any recommendations?

depends on what case you have and your limitations but I've heard lots of good things about the ninja mini and it can also be run without a fan if you have good case cooling
 
well the clearance for your case is 160.5mm, which basically lets you use any HSF, but since you want a quiet HSF, im not too sure, but i know you can fit a xig or a true in there, not sure if they are quiet though.

I have an Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 PWM AM2 (S754 S939 S940 900-2200RPM 40CFM 4PIN Heatsink Fan) in a Silverstone Lascala LC17B Black HTPC Case (2X5.25 1X3.5 6X3.5INT W/ 2X80MM Case Fan). It work very well.

i have a scythe ninja mini and i love it, it cools well and is fairly short for HTPC cases..... great HSF
 
I might have missed it but what case are you using again? You know, kind of important when you're asking about what cooler to use.
 
well im just using my athlon 4600 stock fan and i got a antec nsk2480 comes with 2 fans and it runs quiet.
 
The freezer 7 is excellent... pretty much silent at 800rpm. The HDT-S1283 is pretty good also, I think, for a combination of overclocking-capable cooling and lower noise. The latter might be close for height, I know mine comes within a millimeter of the case side (not an HTPC case though).
 
In the picture is the Freezer 7, on an AMD 5200+ (socket AM2) chip. Is the BE 2400 not socket AM2?
I'm pretty sure that cooler would work, and fit, since you have 16cm of clearance.
 
The Freezer came in both Intel (775) and AMD (Socket 754, 939, AM2) flavors. The Intel one is the Freezer 7, the AMD one is Freezer 64.
 
I second the ninja mini, and I also use the Zalman 8700NT in my Origen AE S10V case and with the exception of bootup, you can barely hear the fan.
 
Bought the Freezer 64 but i have a support bar going across the middle of the case that won't allow the cooler to clear. How bad would it be to cut that bar completely out or just trim it so i can get it to fit?

I don't think you should cut that particular support bar. Looks it might be needed.
 
Another vote for the scythe ninja mini, ive built a few HTPC's now with it and with all of them i havent had to even install the fan that comes with it, so they all run passive.
 
if you have a case fan located close to the CPU, then go with a passive mini ninja setup. I have the Antec NSK 2400 case, and have this setup with a e7200

Where did you purchase the Silent Flux Cooler? I found their website but the 3 links they provide for purchasing either require or a login or I can't find the item there. I'm located in Canada in case that makes a difference.
