I currently have a SilverStone LC-17, which I'm both happy and unhappy with.
My main gripe with it is the internal component layout, and I started looking around for cases that have smarter internal layouts. I can find some that are somewhat smart, but it got me thinking that this would be a much better layout:
(The hard drives are upright, I'm thinking something like a hot-plug back-plane).
It'd require a case that's 19" deep (almost 3" deeper than the LC-17), but I don't think depth is the biggest issue with HTPC cases.
Though, if the Noctua NH-D14 has to fit in the case, it'd have to be a 5U case. Not entirey certain that's something people want. I picked the NH-D14, because I couldn't find a model of the Noctua NH-C14, which fits in the LC-17 (slightly lower than 4U).
So, back to my question.
Are there any HTPC cases with a component layout like this? And is it even as smart a layout as I think it is?
