HTPC case suggestions

I'm going to build an HTPC to sit in my cabinet under my TV. I will strip components out of an existing tower I have to use in the HTPC. That's an ATX motherboard and 8800GT video card.
I'm looking for a horizontal type case, maybe around 4 or 5 inches high should be good. I will only need one DVD/BluRay drive at the front.

Suggestions please!

ive just finished an htpc build for my parents and i used a Silverstone Lascala LC10E (Black). i was worried about the 80mm exhaust fans being too loud....i put them on a small fan controller and dialled them down and now they are very quiet while still pulling a nice amount of air. you can remove the middle hd rack and it will fit an 8800gt and still have room for at least 3 hdd. im pretty happy with this case, and if i hadnt already build one for myself it would defintely be thinking about this case.

i was wanting the new lian-li "PC-C50" case but unfortunately the morons only made it matx....having the option for 4x120mm crossflow fans is ideal and the design is very nice imo. i also needed room for an atx board so i went with the silverstone...

That is what I hate about the nicer HTPC cases, $120 from amazon with no power supply. Hope you get what you pay for, nice looking case.

yep i paid $129.99 CAD for that silverstone..without a psu. but honestly there arent too many good cases that come with decent power supplies anyway, no matter what the form factor. i even picked up the cheapest case i could find for a secondary htpc (coolermaster elite360) for $39.99 CAD and it didnt come with a psu either...

^~ I actually own that case for my pseudo HTPC.

And I managed to shove a full size GTX 275 in there and still keep the hard drive bay in (absolutely no modifications).

It's a winner in my eyes and gorgeous.

I like the Silverstone cases except for one thing, the DVD slot. There's the cheap plastic DVD drive face instead of the nice aluminium finishing. I just got a Antec MicroFusion 350, I would usually recommend the Antec Fusion, but then its only mATX only. Here's a great case IMO:

A more clean and sleek look with the front panel hidden.

Good point but I think I prefer no DVD cover as I just want to have to press a button to open the DVD and not have to slide some external cover open too.

you obviously dont know what youre talking about.
that case i quoted.... http://www.silverstonetek.com/products/p_contents.php?pno=LC10-E&area=usa does indeed have a dvd drive cover plate, which is matching aluminum. it attaches to the dvd drive via hi grade tape and works very well.

Maybe he meant the cheaper (SG02, SG05, SG06) Silverstone cases, lol. I have/had all the listed, and none had alumi DVD slot covers. I'd guess, however, their actual HTPC cases will have them, especially if those are moving parts.

Has anyone tried the Apevia X-Master (the cheapo one on Newegg in many colors)?
Seems to be dirt cheap and has some OK reviews...

If you get it, ditch the PSU like it's going to slowly go out of spec and kill your components... :p

Silverstone Grandia GD05 for $90, I have the GD04 and it looks the same, brushed aluminum (tape-on DVD cover too). I under-volted the 3 12cm fans and it's near silent. Takes full size video card, ATX MB and PSU. Only drawback is low profile cpu cooler if you use a standard optical drive.

Edit:Oops, micro-ATX, thx for correction Matt

According to NewEgg specs this is not for full ATX. You used for ATX?
