HSF to fit in SFF

What a coincidence, I just built an SFF system using that exact same case. I found this review showing a Noctua NH-C12P being used in the case:

http://www.clunk.org.uk/reviews/lian-li-pc-v351-matx-aluminium-htpc-chassis-review/Page-6.html

so I got the NH-C12P SE14, which is newer and comes with the 140mm fan on top instead of 120mm. It fits, but you have to install the fan after the heatsink is inside the case because it's just a few millimeters too tall to slide in with the rest of the board. It's tricky, but it helps if you do it before you install the power supply and use some needlenose pliers to work the wire clips.

I know this cooler is quite a bit more expensive than your budget, but I recommend it because it gets really really warm in that case and it's a good idea to have a very good cooler. Also, no matter what cooler you get, make sure you set up the cpu fan to blow upwards into the psu and not downwards as you'll get much better temps that way.

And by the way, I have this cooler installed in my case and it is 114mm tall, so I'd say you have about 110mm to work with. Hope that helps.

I remember HardOCP already did a review on that unit, you can take a look at the results here:

Bottom line: you're actually better off with the stock cooler. Ouch.

Might be worth looking into the Prolimatech Samuel 17, although I dunno how much it costs.

Also, Zalman makes a couple low profile coolers that might be worth looking into, but I haven't paid much attention to them in a while.

Damn, its a piece of shit.

Gonna hunt newegg and performance-pcs for something...

Scythe Ninja Mini would be awesome. Havent seen one for sale anywhere though

LIAN LI PC-V351B owners! What HSF are you using that performs well for overclocking and fits? Possible to water cool this case with an H50/70 maybe?
