OK I will be building this system when I get paid next Friday. Please critique it, tell me what looks good, what doesn't, and what changes you would make if any. I'd rather not go any higher in price than it already is. Thanks!

Things I'm getting:

Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R - $130
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 - $205
GeIL Esoteria 2x1GB DDR2 800 - $150
EVGA 8800GTS 640MB - $380
Corsair CMPSU-520HX 520W - $125
Tuniq T-120-LFB Heatsink - $68
Samsung 18x DVD-RW w/Lightscribe - $37
Lian-Li PC-60BPlusII - $140

Total: $1230

Things I already have:

Viewsonic 20" Wide LCD
Seagate 7200.10 320GB
EMU-1212M
Logitech G5
Saitek Eclipse II
Klipsch Promedia 2.1

I'm not an expert on computers like some others here in Gen[H]ard so you can skip over my opinion.

Why spend so much on the cpu? Wouldn't a OCed E6420 be enough? Plus you'd save almost $100, also where's the HDD?

lol good catch, fortunately i already have myself a Seagate 7200.10 320GB waiting to get plugged in. and i just noticed i priced the cpu wrong lol

you can usually find 2x1GB sticks for ~$55AR on slickdeals every now and then. i wouldnt be so quick to jump the gun on paying for the geil sticks. i found some ocz and patriots sticks for $55AR. will save you a good chunk of change.

Ditch that RAM. Go for the Crucial Ballistix DDR2-800 2GB kit for $110 - $25MIR instead. They use Micron D9GMH chips, so they can OC to DDR2-1066.

E6750: 8 * 333 = 2.6Ghz, DDR2-667 << STOCK speeds
E6750: 8 * 400 = 3.2Ghz, DDR2-800 << Easy OC
E6750: 8 * 450 = 3.6Ghz, DDR2-900 << Good OC
E6750: 8 * 500 = 4.0Ghz, DDR2-1000 << Great OC

If you don't mind 3.2-3.6Ghz, then get the OCZ sticks that are on sale for like $60AR.

Actually the E6420 was replaced by the E6750 in that $186 price bracket. However, heavy demand for the E6750, well known to be a pretty good overclocker, have raised the prices about $20. The E6750's high overclockability and faster stock speeds than the E6420 makes it worth the extra $20 to some. Also, the prices on the E6420 also haven't dropped because of, purely my guess here, low supply and still decent amount of demand.

Anyway, OP, here's where you can get that Corsair PSU for cheaper:
Corsair HX520 520W PSU - $105

Oh and you can get the Tuniq Tower for cheaper as well:
Tuniq Tower 120HSF - $47

Your system looks good. Just take Enginurd's advice on the RAM -- those Crucial Ballistix are among the best PC-6400 DIMMS due to the Micron D9 chips, and are very reasonably priced at the moment. Also, stick with the E6750, as Danny Bui suggested, as it basically replaced the E6420, offering better OC capability for a mere $20 more. With a Tuniq Tower, you should be able to get that 6750 up to 3.6-4ghz... Getting a E6420 to 3.6ghz is not easy.

Good luck,

Mark.
