Sports and technology have always progressed hand in hand as new mediums for bringing sports to the masses emerge over time. From radio broadcasts to television; from the VCR to HD online streams on computers and cellphones, sports broadcasts have readily adopted new tech to attract new consumers. Virtual reality (VR) has now piqued the interest of sports broadcasters as a new exciting medium to attract audiences. VR suits can be worn to simulate running down a football field avoiding tacklers. VR accessories can be adapted to golf clubs to simulate being out there with a famous golfer. Best of all these can be added to home broadcasts or stadiums as VR attractions for paying crowds.
"These mediums are advancing every day allowing us the ability to build the ultimate fan experience. In the near future, we will purchase products in real-time as we watch live events through VR. This is the first time in history when sports technology gives us the edge not only in training, or observation but also in fan engagement."
