Does anyone here know how to fold with both ATI and nvidia in your system? Im running a 4890 as my main card and it would be nice to add my 8800gts's ~5000ppd :D

Its been tried and found to be not stable.

What happens is the nVidia client will sometimes use the ATI drivers to fold with and visa versa.
So you'll either fold for 0 points if that work-unit is found and dumped or you'll send bad data back to Stanford which messes up the next gen of work-units.

Not worth it long turm.

Luck ......... :D

darn... i guess i will just throw it in my moms computer and let it fold 24/7 there :D

just make sure you can have access to it. Remote login apps are great for offsite folding, I'm thinking of building a folding rig for my old man, all he does is surf the web so Itwould be fine folding 24/7 and he'd pay the electric, not me lol

My beautiful networked KVM switch... (got it from my company on the cheap after we phazed out the older VGA/PS-2 systems - not to say it's still not VGA...).

Does remote desktop/fast user switching use some cut-down version of Terminal Services?

A quick trip to my bookshelf says remote desktop does indeed use the terminal services client, but I don't see anything about whats going on under the hood with fast user switching.

But now that you've piqued my interest, I'll be doing some reading this weekend. :D

Looks like metallicafan did out reading for us!

Now I'm confused, Terminal services relies on fast user switching, or is it the other way around?

Because TS was on Windows 2K Adv server, and that did not have fast user switching.

I know logmein works great, its my choice, just cuz it works on my phone lol

They chose there wording poorly on the bottom of that article but Fast User Switching requires Terminal Services. Without TS there is no fast user switching because only one user can be logged in at a time.
