Is anyone else able to downclock the 6970's memory using MSI Afterburner? Whenever I try to change it, it just stays pegged at 1375 MHz. Using 2.1.0... should I try the beta?

Yeah, already did that... no dice. I can move the slider < 1375 MHz but the settings don't take effect. It works fine on my other card though (5830). Running latest Catalyst.

You need to overvolt and overclock those cards when you bit mine boy. So you can get your uberhashes lol....

:D

mining is ...... :rolleyes:

Thanks for trolling my topic. Yes I am Bitcoin mining... so what. This question had nothing to with mining.

Anyway I figured it out. Created a CCC profile then edited these lines in the XML to:

<Property name="Want_0" value="15000" />
<Property name="Want_1" value="65000" />
<Property name="Want_2" value="65000" />

This lets me underclock to 650 MHz in CCC. You can edit the values to whatever you'd like.

You can use MSI Afterburner and that should work for you. Good luck on those blocks. I would get a second card if I was you. Two of these outperform a 6990 for about 100 less.

And yeah I was trolling because I absolutely, intolerably, inexplicably, absolutely hate bit coin miners. You guys are responsible for why I have been waiting several weeks going on a month for my 6990.

Yeah I blamed all you miners.
