How should I keep this case cool?

Ok, if you've seen my thread about modding my desk, I'm going to be putting a comp tower on a shelf where drawers used to be. The shelf is 19" deep, 17" high, and about 15" across. The case will fit right in, with little to no space on top of it, about 2" behind, most of which will be filled with cords I assume, and about 3" on either side.

Right now my case looks like this:

id=204

(kick ass image, I know, I didn't feel like moving it out to digicam it)

It's got an 80mm front intake, 60mm rear exhaust, and the power supply has a bottom fan which I don't think does too much.

When I move the case into the shelf enclosure, it will have less airflow, and not as much room behind it to push air out. I'm trying to find an alternate to cutting a hole in the back of my desk. A friend suggested I replace the 60mm rear fan with an 80mm, and add two side intake fans, one over the video card and one over the processor, to possibly help airflow.

That would look something like this:

id=205

I'm not sure if that's a good or bad idea, I mean, it would create more air flow, but the air around the case would probably be pretty warm. I'm open to suggestions.

I'd be able to offer a better suggestion if you really could post some pics, I can't make out what im seeing in those mockups.

Ok, took some pics, didn't want to put them in the post so here's links with descriptions:

This one is the front/left with the side off, you can see the front intake grill.

This one you can see the rear 60mm exhaust fan and the power supply underside fan, as well as a pci slot fan between video and network cards.

The front intake fan.

A more close up shot of the rear fan and the psu fan, as well as the cpu fan on this one.

My wiring is asstastic, but I'll be totally shifting parts between this comp and another once a few more parts arrive.

This pic here is a pic of the area of my desk where the shelf will be going (on top of the triangle blocks, basically right at the bottom there) which the tower will sit on.

The case will fit, my old setup had a desktop pc on the desk next to my current monitor...which if nothing else I will just go back to. I just thought that putting the tower on the shelf would lower overall temps rather than two pc's on the desk.

Put another fan on top of the case blowing out and that should do it,

If I put the case on the shelf, there would be less than half an inch from the top of the case to the bottom of the desk, so I don't think a blowhole would really do anything...there's no room for it to push air to.

I have just a little more space than that with 5 computers in it. ;) Then again, I do have more space due to the printer being in the closet... :p

I've seen many PSU's go dead because of inadequate airflow out of the back of the case. Hell, I've seen just about everything fry in an eMachines computer due to lack of airflow. Just make sure you don't have too many massive hot pockets right outside of your case. :)

BTW, my main box is simlar to yours... Only, I have a Barton 2500+, 4 hard drives, 2 CD ROM drives, a 5900, and some other stuff in it... Wire management is a must. ;)
