Ok, if you've seen my thread about modding my desk, I'm going to be putting a comp tower on a shelf where drawers used to be. The shelf is 19" deep, 17" high, and about 15" across. The case will fit right in, with little to no space on top of it, about 2" behind, most of which will be filled with cords I assume, and about 3" on either side.
Right now my case looks like this:
(kick ass image, I know, I didn't feel like moving it out to digicam it)
It's got an 80mm front intake, 60mm rear exhaust, and the power supply has a bottom fan which I don't think does too much.
When I move the case into the shelf enclosure, it will have less airflow, and not as much room behind it to push air out. I'm trying to find an alternate to cutting a hole in the back of my desk. A friend suggested I replace the 60mm rear fan with an 80mm, and add two side intake fans, one over the video card and one over the processor, to possibly help airflow.
That would look something like this:
I'm not sure if that's a good or bad idea, I mean, it would create more air flow, but the air around the case would probably be pretty warm. I'm open to suggestions.
