How old are you?

I'm 32  started playing on an atari 2600 back in the olden days, had colecovision, nes, etc, etc.. actually the last console i had was a PS1, mostly because consoles+games are so damn expensive I chose to invest in pc gaming instead :D

24 now.
Started with an Atari 2600 at the age of 5 or 6.

Cost of Atari 2600: $20-40 used
Cost of current gaming rig: ~$2,500

Favorite type of games as a kid: RPGs (Final Fantasy, Dragon Warrior)
Favorite type of games now: RPGs.

Some things don't change...others do! :D

18 now, started @ 3 with NES.

Roommates I lived with had it and played Contra, Mario, Spyhunter, all that good shit. That's what got me into gaming. I totally played out the Sega Genesis when I was like 8 or so (I'd rape anyone in Madden 95 @ 8yrs old). I really got into PC gaming over consoles eventually.. obviously because of the better graphics and cooler(my word! :p) games with multiplayer.

Im 34 and started "gaming" with the original Pong sometime in the 70's and quickly moved to an uber powerful TI-99 4/A

I'm 37 and started gaming with Pong and some kind of bowling game console. Then I went on to a PET computer in our schools library somewhere around 1978. Then I went on to a slightly newer Comodore 64 in the math classroom. Then to an Apple (IIc?) in the Ag room that had dual floppy drives instead of a tape drive! WOOT!! Our first home computer was an Atari 400 with a tape drive. The rest is history...

First, let's defince "gaming" shall we?
Personally, I define gaming as just that, gaming. It doesn' t matter if it's a board game, and RPG, a card game, console, or computer. I game.

I really got into gaming when my folks got me Clue back in about 1972 when I was 7. This really got me into the aspect that you had to "think" to play a game. Shortly after that, my grandpa taught me to play Cribbage. Still play and have taught my kids :)

Then we got our Atari 2600 when they first came out - which was about the time I descovered RPGs (Mainly D&D). I still have my 2600... talk about old school. Not long after that we built our first computer. And I mean built - soldered in the ICs and other components. 512 byts of ram, hexidecimal LED read out and keypad. Learned Assembly language and even played / wrote a couple games.

Then we got our Franklin Ace 2000 - an Apple ][ clone (better than an apple actually). Played the Wizardry Series on that along with a crap load of other games and wrote some stuff.

I'll be 40 in June, and still game and encourage others to game as well. It's okay to have fun! My kids game, my wife games, and we are all "productive members of society". I've made some life long friends through gaming and the conventions and other events that go along with them.

My current addiction (if you call it that) is Lego Pirates. weeeee ! or is that Yarrr!

Keep Gaming, but play everything you can get your hands on!

Peace,
Tim

30 years of gaming! I'm 40, started at 10 or so with Pong then moved on to Atari, been gaming ever since.

I started playing I think maybe 3 I played good ol' mario man my mom had pictures of me running while mario was running on the screen. I was hooked since then. I have almost every console now. yes it is sad! I got hooked on my first pc game which was star craft then after that it was counter-strike now I have tons and tons of games I will be 18 in november and I will probably never stop playing games because I am addicted and I will let my kids play as long as they do good in school, but yes I even sometimes in school day dream about games. Something happened at age 3 so now I can't live without games :( someone help please please PLEAS!!!

18. started playing... ummm... whenever our family got that P3 and i dropped $40 on age of empires...

man there's alot of old farts around here... u think ur commodore 64 is really neato? what kinda chip you got it there???

Stick me in the original Pong group. I loved my family's first Odyssey system and moved on to the Atari 2600 when I scraped enough allowance together. I'm 35 and still gaming today. I'm ensuring that I pass the gaming gene on to my kids as well, though I doubt I'll have the advantage much longer. :D

Im now currently 21, and now I play mainly PC games. I started when I was about 5 or 6 with sega master system. Those were the days...

I'm surprised one of the mods didn't wake up on the wrong side of the bed, lock this and point to Gen May yet.

I'm 20 now, started gaming when I won a Gameboy and SNES from a news station.
Computer gaming started with Windows 95.

I'm 32. Started way back on pong (amazingly, that was so much fun).

pong --> Atari 2600 --> Atari 5200 --> SNES --> Sega Genesis & Super Nintendo --> Playstation --> XBox and GameCube

Mostly now it's just the computer I play on. WoW all the way.

At 23... getting close to 24 now...

Started out around the age of 5 on my faithful Atari 2600 which I still have in mint condition. I still play it from time to time. Gotta love Space Invaders and Combat! w00t
Moved to the NES, then the PS1, then the XBox.... but I mostly PC game now. Started gaming on the PC since about '93 when I got my 486DX...

22.....don't play much with being a senior in college and about to start my job in IS at JB Hunt.

I just turned 28 this week.

Oddly enough, I'm 33 and also started with PONG! (around age 6 as well.) But the system is older than both of us.

My first computer was an ADAM if I recall, though my father did let me poke around his portable Osborn (lol), and tear apart Commodores and Colecovision systems.

Started on vic20 Gorf!! then upgraded to c64 Raid Over Moscow baby! from there atari then nes then snes then sega saturn then dreamcast to xbox.. I still prefer pc gaming over console... oh and I'm 32.

I felt old when I was at the doctor's office, where they have a Sega Genesis. A 10ish kid comes up and asks what system that was, and i had to explain to him that what a Genisis was. I feel old. :(
Lol, wait till you are older than the doctor that you are seeing, then you will feel old.

I'm 35. Been gaming since Atari 2600 days. I don't remember when that was, cuz I have alzheimers ;)
