How often do you change TP on a 2500K?

Just curious. I am going to reattach my second fan to my heatsink and was thinking I might as well reapply TP to the cpu too.

How often do you reapply thermal paste of TP or toilet paper....uh

Put "TIM"... TP is totally toilet paper...so never...(though i do wrap the fittings in it during leak testing) :p

Depends on the paste... I usually change it over when I do a fluid change (once per year).

Usually only when changing out the heatsink. Once it is spread and set, there really isn't a need to change it unless you remove the heatsink.

Only if you take the heatsink off. So never for me.

+1 to what everyone else has said. Quality TIM doesn't degrade significantly over time, so there's no need to ever reapply it, unless you think you didn't do it right the first time.

If I remove the HSF (heatsink/fan) for any reason I replace the thermal paste. Otherwise just keep the HSF clean and don't worry about it.

okey dokey.

So no reason to reapply unless the temps all of a sudden spike.

current paste mating the cpu and hsf on my sig rig was applied about 3 years ago I think. Only reason it needed reapplied was due to removing the hsf for a cross country move. Didn't trust a Tuniq Tower 120 hanging off the mobo in the back of a u-haul for 2500 miles. So yeah, same as everyone else - only when I remove the hsf.

Some types of TIM do dry out over time, so really it depends on what you are using. If you have the old school white paste from radioshack, then you may want to reapply once a year or so. My MX4 package said 5 years, I think.
