to a point you are right(Rabid Yellow dog). this is my 2nd 2.4c. the first one i had, would bearly reach 2.9 on 1.8 volts, i couldn't hit the 3ghz point which most ppl w/ 2.4cs were. if you get a 2.4c at this point, it would probably be a "M0" revision, which from what i hear are p4EE's that failed the l3 cache tests so it is disabled on them. it really is hit or miss, there is no doubt about that.
