Hi

I currently looking for a small mATX to house my Biostar TA690G and X2 3600+ BE which im hopefully going to OC :)

So.. I have been reading 'n' looking a lot, and found out that i quite like the internals of the microfly/qpack and quite easy can fit an okay size cooler with a small mod (sidebar cut)

So... I read some reviews.. Some of them says flimsy, bad etc.. others very good..

So... I want to hear your opinion!

Thx!

they are good cases ive had both, and currently use a microfly.the zalaman 8700 will fit fine with no modding, and that would cool that cpu just fine oc'd.a standard atx power supply fits nicely although, i do like modular power supplies in these small cases.it makes wire management alot easier.

I like both.

Someone put a 9700 Zalman in there with the sidebar removed. XP-90 fits with a tiny bit of work. the Zalman flower heatsinks work as well. depending on your board the Thermalright 90 series work as well.

Even the Original Qpack is good. I like it because it is 1" shorter. Great cases.

They are good cases. Not as good as many ATX cases but still pretty decent.

Just don't use the included power supplies with those cases. None of them come with a decent PSU. In the case of the QPack, the Apevia PSUs that it comes with are more than likely to damage your PC.

I also found that using a Lite-on drive is good if you're putting a decent power supply in the q-pack. If you get a nicer, longer PSU (like my 500w modular antec), the only issue you may have is hitting the back of the 5.25 bay drives. The Lite-ons are roughly a cm shorter than most other brands.

Aside from that small tidbit I greatly enjoyed the case, although the plastic handle felt pretty flimsy so I didn't trust it..

Hmm that sounds okay..

LOL found a Qpack made by Aplus with a 250 mm in the roof - looks hilarious

And another cheap remake by sharkoon

I'm also considering CM Elite 340 since it have good airflow and more space, but its a tower insted of a box T_T

Still thinking...

Edit: Some reviews / test of the Blockbuster - think im going for this one!

I really like my microfly. The case seems a little flimsy at first, but once you get everything in it it becomes a lot more solid. They are also very easy to do minor modifications on for fans and such and you can fit just about anything in it as far as components go. Definitely go with the modular power supply though. It makes a huge difference in airflow, cable maintenance, and the overall look of the machine.

I had to run my x-qpack without the top because it got flaming hot lol. I was running an 8800gt and a 5000+ HA

to be honest, unless you are using both 5.25 and both internal 3.5 bays, it is not hard to hide extra cables from a PSU in the QPack. Depending on how the modular connectors are layed out and whether you use an IDE or SATA optical drive, you may have issues that a non modular PSU wouldn't because all the cables come out of a single place in the lower corner. I am not saying stay away from modular PSUs, but they are not a must have either.

Another thing no one else mentioned is the mobo tray. It is very likely that you will not be able to slide the tray in with your HSF installed because of where the exhaust fan is mounted. Some QPack clones have addressed the clearance issues of the internal support braces, but none have worked out a solution for being unable to remove the mobo tray.
