How far away do you sit?

I am curious as to how far away most of you sit from your displays and how big that display is!

I had just purchased a 21" Gateway and felt it was too big for as close as I sit to my screen.

I myself use dual 17" screens at 1280x1024 and sit about 2 feet away.
 
I have a 20" Dell 2001fp, and when I lean back in my chair (which is most of the time) I am about 3' from the screen.
 
I have a 20" wide @ 1680x1050 and eyes are about one meter from the display...
 
doesnt sitting about 3+ feet away make text appear pretty small at 1680x1050?

It does for some things, thus why I use Opera where I can blow up text for web stuff with the touch of a button, icons and etc are still clear with everything else.
 
Just over 3 feet :) But I could go further and be OK.

i run 1204x768 and my eyes are 1-half feet away 90% of the time (-10% leaning back)
 
21" trinitron CRT(main) and17" pos LCD for IMs. Gaming-18inches, Movies-3ft when leaning back, regular use- about 2.3 feet.

(Yes, I know my wires are messy in this pic.. some cable management is on teh way ;)

you ca do the same in IE, just hold CTRL down and scroll to the text size you want. ;)

More importantly, you can do the same thing in Firefox.
