It's been a while since I've built a great desktop PC, my last build was stolen about a year ago and I had an Alienware m17x R3 laptop with an i7 and GTX 560m running 1600x900. Just curious of the performance differences you think I will see. I do plan on overclocking and the machine will primarily be used for gaming, converting video and web design. Ive already purchased everything but I can make changes/additions.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming and web design with some video conversion.

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?

1080p - Not in budget, already have this.

Nothing in particular. I want to go modern with SATA III 6GB and USB 3. Also good OC features.

Nope. Got Windows 8 64 bit.

Though the CPU is fine for now. Though you're missing the HSF needed for overclocking.
 
Which Corsair Vengence RAM did you choose?

The rest of the build looks ok. I have some reservations about the SSD but I'm gonna let it be.
 
This stuff. Made sure to get the 1.5v. Also have a 1TB WD black going in as main storage.
 
Dang. Well, like I said I already ordered it. I'll be getting the H100 water cooler soon enough so I wont worry about that.
