I've been a member on the [H] forums for 3 years now and I haven't posted in about 2.7 of them, happy to say my first venture back is in the water cooling section with you guys (and girls {TN I fear your AC loving wrath}). First I'll post the system I will be buying within the next week.
GIGABYTE GA-P35-DQ6 mobo
EVGA 8800GTX only 1 unfortunately (for now >D)
C2D E6600
Patriot eXtreme Performance PC2 8500 2gigs
WD Raptor X
Corsair 620w PSU (thought about a PCP&C 750w Quad)
Creative X-Fi
I'm hoping to get the 6600 to at least 3.5ghz stable and from the looks of those that already have them and are OC'ing that wont be a problem. Also, I'd like to OC the 8800gtx and I cant decide which would be best for performance system-wide, full cover block or gpu with some ram sinks?
This is what I've come up with to date for the loop, keep in mind this is sitting in a Gigabyte 3D Aurora 570 with some new fans(unless someone would suggest a purty and at least moderately comfortable/functional case for such a setup):
Swiftech Apogee GT/GTX (I cant decide between the two
)
Swiftech MCP655 (as far as I can tell this is the best pump for my needs for this loop, the Iwaka is I THINK unnecessary and ugly as all hell)
Swiftech MCW60 OR EK full cover block
Swiftech MCW30 on NB chipset
Thermochill 120.2 rad (is there anything better for the size or is this really the primo stuff here?)
Masterkleer 1/2"
AS5 or some Ceramique, whatever I get my hands on first
I would like some UV reactive coolant, some form of red is preferable but I've been doing A LOT of reading on these forums and apparently for performance it's best to stick with water and af 4:1? What kind of cooling would I give up to run something that I can show off and who offers a good solution as I read that Fluid XP isn't a good choice?)
One last thing, if I did get the Apogee GTX, would bowing do any good if I end up lapping the hell out of my cpu? I'm getting the highest grade sand paper I have patience for as I'm going to have the cpu the same time I get my loop set up so I'll have a day or two to leak test and prepare everything else.
Any suggestions, advice or part swaps are very appreciated and I know I picked a lot of Swiftech parts but unless I'm forgetting something (which is possible its 1 a.m. here and I've had a few beers) I'm basing it off of cost/performance, which by the way I am willing to spend a large chunk o' money on assuming its buying me worthy cooling power. I just don't like the idea of a 120.3 rad or multi rads in my loop just yet, this w/c noob needs pretend to be humble about this at first at any rate.
