Hey guys, im gonna skip a lot of the unneeded stuff and just get to it. Im curious what the performance penalty for lowering your memory divider is. Default for my board is 1:1.25, however i can achieve a moderately larger over clock if i switch that to 1:1. I obviously lose a lot of bandwidth though. Im curious how much this effects the system.

I do apologize for asking this question in such a format, but im in an extreme hurry atm and cant flesh it out more.

I apologize if this is a topic that has been covered. Please just delete/ignore in that case.

You won't see a performance decrease or increase going from 1:1.25 to 1:1. It's just that Intel C2D based systems simply do not benefit from anything higher than a 1:1 ratio. So that higher clock should make up for any bandwidth "loss".

memory speed and timings doesnt effect c2d and c2q systems the way it did with amd64 and x2 and some intel p4 systems.

Not entirely true, you lose a very slight amount of performance, anything over 1:1 will always perform slightly better, but the difference is usually only a couple of percent in real world apps.
